When Paris signed her name at the bottom of the letter, she dotted the i's with little hearts. The girl is a totally brain-dead blonde. But then we all knew that.

I'm surprised she didn't add BFFL. Smile

Inmate Paris Hilton scores an unlikely supporter - The Duchess of York

Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore has confirmed that Paris Hilton is likely to be released from the Lynwood Correctional Facility on June 25.

He said "Ms. Hilton has been co-operative since her incarceration," and with less than a week to go until her release from jail, the hotel heiress has received a letter of sympathy from royalty - The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson.

Fergie spent time with the celbutante at a party held aboard rapper P. Diddy's yacht in St Tropez, and has offered her support to 'The Simple Life' starlet, after meeting Paris' parents Rick and Kathy Hilton over lunch at a Beverly Hills restaurant.

Fergie reportedly added her condolences to the sometime singer, saying that the experience of being imprisoned could be "the making of Paris", and hopes that something good will come of it...perhaps she can introduce Paris to Royalty.

Would Paris be the perfect partner for fellow wild ****, Prince Harry Windsor?

Paris and Larry get together
Jun 25 08:43am

Originally set to be interviewed by former 'The View' panellist Meredith Viera on NBC, Paris Hilton has instead declared that veteran interviewer Larry King will grill her after she finishes her stay in prison.
The hotel heiress will appear on the 'The Larry King Show' this coming Wednesday (Thursday, Australian time), and has said:

"I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his program to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about. Larry King is not only a world-renown journalist, but a true American Icon. It will be an honor to do his show."

Set to be Larry's only guest for the entire-long length of his show, Paris will tell all about her eventual stay in jails - yes, jails! - as she flitted from Lynwood Correctional Facility, to home detention, back to court where she cried for her mother, then Los Angeles downtown pen The Twin Towers, then finally back to Lynwood.

Paris gets out of jail on Tuesday, and then will appear on Larry King the following evening.

It's an adventurous and risky choice for the celebutante, with Larry King still regarded as one of the best interviewers in the business, and someone who is not afraid to go for the jugular when he senses an opening.

Will Larry go hard or go soft on Paris?

Paris Hilton released from jail
Tuesday June 26, 09:20 PM

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hotel heiress Paris Hilton, who commanded as much attention behind bars as on the Hollywood party scene, regained her freedom early on Tuesday after serving three weeks in jail for violating probation in a drunken-driving case.
The incarceration of the 26-year-old multimillionaire, who lampooned her own persona as a clueless **** of privilege on the reality TV show "The Simple Life," ignited a worldwide media frenzy and debate about celebrity justice.
The saga hit a crescendo when Hilton was placed briefly under house arrest after just three days in jail, sparking an uproar over what many saw as preferential treatment. Even so, a Los Angeles Times analysis found her sentence far exceeded those served by most inmates for similar offenses.
In the end, Hilton served 22 days in detention, counting her day-long home confinement. The original 45-day term set by the judge was effectively cut in half under a standard credit applied for good behavior.
Hilton emerged from the Century Regional Detention Facility in suburban Lynwood at about 12:15 a.m. (0715 GMT) with throngs of photographers and camera crews waiting for her.
Dressed casually in dark slacks and a short-sleeved top, Hilton made no statement but smiled broadly as she walked briskly down a paparazzi-lined path to a sports utility vehicle where she was embraced by her mother, Kathy.
The Hiltons left quickly, headed for a Hilton family home in the exclusive enclave of Bel-Air, with several vehicles full of photographers tailing them all the way.
Hilton was scheduled to give her first post-jail television interview on Wednesday on CNN's "Larry King Live" show, after ABC and NBC last week dropped competing offers to grant her a major broadcast network exclusive.
Whether fame worked for or against her, public fascination with the socialite who first gained notoriety in a homemade sex video that surfaced on the Internet never seemed to dim.

SHERIFF VS. PROSECUTOR

The case also led to a rare public showdown between two of Los Angeles' top law enforcement officers -- City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, who prosecuted Hilton, and Sheriff Lee Baca, who oversees the county jail system and moved to "reassign" Hilton to house arrest.
The judge sided with the prosecutor in sending Hilton back to jail to finish her term. But Delgadillo soon found himself under fire for his own misconduct, including improper use of city resources and revelations that his wife had been the subject of a 9-year-old arrest warrant.
Hilton has spoken in interviews of being transformed by her experience, of wanting to put her celebrity to good use, and of feeling that God had given her a second chance.
Her jail time stemmed from her arrest last September on a charge of drunken driving. She pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of alcohol-related reckless driving in January and was sentenced to three years probation.
The following month she was caught driving on a suspended license, which Judge Michael Sauer ruled in May violated her probation. He rejected Hilton's defense that she had been misinformed about the status of her license by her publicist.
Her lawyers vowed an appeal, and supporters launched a petition campaign seeking clemency from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But Hilton surrendered the night of June 3 to begin her sentence.
Just hours earlier, the great-granddaughter of the Hilton Hotels founder had walked the red carpet at a Hollywood awards show where she was the butt of jokes on national television.
Days later, Baca released her to house arrest under electronic monitoring, citing unspecified medical problems that he later described as psychological. Hilton has since said she suffers from claustrophobia.
The judge overruled Baca the next day and ordered Hilton back to jail as she sobbed loudly, "Mom, Mom, It's not right!"
Richard Levick, a Washington, D.C.-based public relations consultant, said he doubted Hilton's livelihood as a professional "celebutante" would be hurt by her ordeal.
"In the upside-down world which is Hollywood, this only helps her," he said. "Paris is literally famous for being famous."
How seriously she is taken by the media in the future depends on whether she is willing to give up the celebrity party circuit for more meaningful pursuits, Levick said.
"The reason people find God or find rehabilitation centers is because they want forgiveness, and we're willing to give it. But they can only sing that song once," he said.

Paris to teach
Jun 27 08:44am

screenshot

The Learning Annex has offered Paris Hilton a new job now that she's out of the Lynwood Correctional Facility - teaching a course called "How To Build Your Brand".

Paris has done a marvellous job of making herself a household name for someone with no real claim to fame other than being famous - sure, she co-hosted a reality television show and released an album (which bombed), but what is it that makes Paris so famous? Why, being Paris of course!

But now the hotel heiress has been offered significant appearance fees to speak at The Learning Annex Real Estate and Wealth Expos in Seattle, Chicago, New York and Boston. The free-as-the-proverbial jailbird has been offered US$1 million to teach a one-hour class on "How to Build Your Brand."

Paris was quoted as saying "I consider myself a businesswoman and a brand" some time ago, and now The Learning Annex President and Founder Bill Zanker is going to put that to the test. He believes "Paris Hilton is a brilliant entrepreneur who has built an incredible brand."

But she's not good enough for Barbara Walters! The famed interviewer passed on the opportunity to interview Paris after her jail break, despite twice having it offered to her.

Declaring the subject matter was too "tawdry" for her taste, saying "I'm fortunately at a point in my life where I can choose what I want, and this was solely my decision. But I must tell you how classy ABC was. They didn't try to force me or say they'd place it on "Nightline," or give it to someone else to do or any of the things they could have done. They respected my decision and walked away."

Instead, Paris will be interviewed by Larry King now she's free from jail.

Paris Hilton speaks!

Paris Hilton appeared on Larry King's talk show Wednesday evening, Californian time.
At the same time, People Magazine in the United States secured a similarly exclusive interview with the recently released celebutante, fresh out of County jail.

In the dual interviews, Paris is humble and contrite, saying that the day she was released from Lynwood Correctional Facility was the happiest day of her life. "I can't even describe walking out of that place," she said, likening it to someone's wedding day or when they give birth.

On Larry King, Hilton appeared close to tears as she told of her shock at being sentenced to jail. Paris said that the day of her sentencing came as a complete shock - she had been under the impression that she would only be sentenced to community service after testing positive to driving under the influence of alcohol on September 7, 2006.

However, it wasn't the actual DUI charge that resulted in Paris going to jail. Instead, she attended court for driving with a suspended license, something that she said she did in error. "I was under the impression that I did have my license," she claimed, saying that she was under the understanding that she was not allowed to drive for 30 days, then after 90 days was able to drive herself to and from work.

"After that I drove for work-related purposes," the hotel heiress claimed, confirming that she also undertook the mandatory alcohol education program. After being sentenced to jail, Paris began being spotted around Los Angeles sporting self-help books and the Bible, which she describes as preparation for her sentence.

"I was just trying to strengthen myself spiritually," she explained. "Just getting closer to God and my higher self."

She tells of how she tricked the trailing media by heading to prison immediately after attending the MTV Movie Awards for 2007, and that the process of being readied for confinement was traumatic. "They do the [strip] search - which is humiliating enough - and fingerprints, mugshot, just like you would see in a movie. I couldn't believe it was happening."

Now that she is out, Paris assures she has grown and matured as a result of her experience. "I know there is so much more to life than the whole club scene," Paris said of her changed attitude to life, before saying that "Obviously I'll still go out sometimes; I'm young and I like to be social."

Paris said that her jail term has made her a stronger person. "I know that I can get through anything and do anything now that I went through that," she says of her experience.

Paris dog food sells on eBay

AN empty gourmet dog food can taken from Paris Hilton's trash fetched $US305 ($355) in an eBay auction.

The bidding that ended Sunday had reached $US1.5 million ($1.7 million), but some of the bids were retracted or canceled because the wrong amount was entered or they were not legitimate, according to the eBay Web site.

The sellers were from the Web site HollywoodStarTrash.com, which also listed several other Hilton items for sale on eBay, including a used toothbrush that also sold for $US305 ($355); two envelopes sent to her while she was in jail that sold for $US510 ($590 ); and a Coke can for $US51 ($59).

The organic gourmet dog food was produced by Party Animal Inc., and can be found in about 150 stores in Southern California and about 40 in New York.

It can also be bought through the company's Web site.

Paris is the main attraction as she's mobbed by tourists

Paris Hilton can't quite let go of her need to be the centre of attention - as she willingly pouts and poses for tourists who line up to take their picture with the ex-convict heiress.
Clad in a black crocheted lacy swimsuit, the not-so-shrinking violet revelled in the attention as she spent the afternoon surfing on the beach.
After serving her time for breaking her probation for drink-driving, Hilton told American talk show host Larry King that partying 'is not going to be the mainstay of my life any more'.
But although she hasn't crossed the threshold of a club, she seems to find it hard to exist without the oxygen of celebrity.
Paris cuts a striking figure as she's tries out the local sport, surfing, for size
She is said to have lost seven pounds in weight during her time in jail, but looked in fine form as she enjoyed the Hawaiian surf.
But despite fleeing to Hawaii to enjoy a sunshine break following her 23-day prison stay - it seems Paris Hilton is destined to be the main attraction wherever she goes.
The socialite, who is best known for her partying and huge appetite for shopping, has seemingly made a quick return to her glamorous lifestyle.
And on a shopping trip to a local boutique in Maui a crowd of holidaymakers gathered to gawp at Paris.
Kept back by burly security guards, a crowd of onlookers followed the heiress as she browsed the stores at a local shopping mall.
And when she stopped at boutique Enchantress, the crowd, brandishing mobile phones and video cameras, stopped too as Paris perused the designer wares and quickly remembered how to use her credit card.
Dressed in a simple black shirt dress and black pumps, and her trademark oversized shades, Paris seemed relaxed as she tried on some Jackie O style headscarves, and mulled over whether to purchase some Fendi ballet-style pumps.
Clearly her appetite has returned, as she tucked into an ice-cream. The hotel heiress claimed she was profoundly affected by her time in prison and vowed to end the wild partying for which she is famous - even if it meant ditching some of her friends.
However, the 26-year-old socialite did spend much of her time in jail doing what she loves most - shopping.
She told King the 'horrible' food plunged her into a 'traumatic' depression, but prison records show that she spent £72 in one week on snacks and cosmetics at the jail's canteen and store.
To supplement her meals, inmate 9818783 ordered 30 packs of chicken broth, five packs of chicken noodle soup, seven muffins, ten snack bars, 3lb of toffee peanuts, five bags of pretzels, plus tea and coffee.
She also bought cold cream, Vaseline, a brown eyebrow pencil and an emery board, according to documents obtained by gossip website TMZ.com.

Calling Paris? Student inherits Hilton's number
Saturday July 7, 03:51 AM

screenshot

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Days after U.S. college student Shira Barlow got her new cell phone number, the party inquiries, birthday wishes and late-night calls started arriving.
Barlow had unwittingly inherited the old phone number of celebrity hotel heiress Paris Hilton -- and messages from well-wishers and foes alike are still flooding in five months later.
Barlow told the Los Angeles Times in a story published on Friday that the calls and text messages -- usually coming between about 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on weekends -- at first were mostly from people asking about cool Los Angeles nightclubs.
But in May they were replaced by condolences after the 26-year-old socialite was sentenced to jail for violating probation in a drunken-driving case.

"People were scared for her," the UCLA student told the newspaper.

Barlow said she has resisted the temptation to pose as Hilton to get herself and her friends on the guest lists of exclusive parties.
She also said she has no plans to switch the number because it has been more a source of amusement than a hassle.
She inherited it in February under a practice in which U.S. phone companies recycle old cell phone numbers after six months to meet increasing demand, the Times said.
The newspaper stumbled on the story after a reporter called the number, hoping to reach Hilton, and Barlow answered.
Hilton spent three weeks in a county jail near Los Angeles last month. Her incarceration ignited a worldwide media frenzy and debate about celebrity justice.

Lindsay and Paris - together again
Jul 09 01:18pm

screenshot

Now that they're out of rehab and prison respectively, sometime actresses, occasional singers, professional party girls Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have reportedly patched up their differences.

It seems that while Paris Hilton attended the same Fourth of July celebration as Lindsay in Malibu at the Polaroid Beach House party, the blonde starlets put their feud behind them to be cordial to one another.

A spy reported that "Paris has decided to give Lindsay a second chance."
Paris' time in pokey made her come to the realisation that she doesn't have many 'real' friends, Paris has done away with her infamous "Burn Book", in which she listed all the slights made against her so that she could better carry a grudge.

Strangely enough, it's been said that former 'Mean Girls' star Lindsay has been tipped to play Paris Hilton in a movie of the socialite's life.

Even stranger still, Britney Spears has been lined up to sing the soundtrack! The three good time gals used to party together, but since then both Lindsay and Brit have spent time in Promises Treatment Centre in Malibu, while Paris had a 23 day stay in prison after being convicted for driving with a suspended license.

Would such a combination - Lindsay playing Paris with Brit singing the songs - prove to be a major hit?

Paris' Aussie Twin

Heiress Paris Hilton may have hated every minute of her 23 days behind bars, but for lookalike Amber Hay, the star's prison term has been a great career move.

Amber has shot to superstar status playing Paris in the three-minute Paris in Jail: The Music Video, which has been viewed more than 7.4 million times on YouTube and MySpace since being posted.

Nailing the heiress' famous pout, Hawaiian-born Amber, who lived in Australia as a teenager, can't believe the popularity of the new video.

'It's such a surprise. We had no idea it was going to be so big,' the 19-year-old says. 'My agent's had so many calls. I've been reading for TV pilots - it's crazy. 'A lot of people are coming up to me on the street too. It's so cool,' Amber grins.

Stand-up comedians and Omovies.com co-founders Allan Murray and Sean Haines were inspired to create the hilarious clip after noticing the non-stop television and print media coverage of Paris' jail dramas.

Allan got the idea for the video while watching TV coverage of Paris' impending jail sentence. He noticed the broadcasters kept using clips from her Stars are Blind video.

'I kept hearing a song parody every time I heard that song on air,' he laughs. Once he had written the lyrics, he and Sean scrambled to assemble the production and find the perfect girl to play Paris. During casting, Amber told Allan: 'I know Paris - she'd probably think this is funny.' And Allan replied: 'You're hired!'

The actress says she met the socialite through mutual friends, and confesses it was easier to act like her because she knows her. 'Paris and I are acquaintances. I've been to her place and I've been able to party with her and get to know her, so that's all obviously helped me act like her on screen,' she says.

'The pout came fairly naturally - I think there are some similarities. It's funny, when we first met through friends, Paris said to me: 'We look a lot alike.' Amber even feels bad for the heiress and thinks she's been treated unfairly. 'They should have given her community service and a fine instead,' she says.

Of course, Amber is also very pleased with the turn her life has now taken and admits it's all thanks to the blonde socialite. 'People are obsessed with Paris,' Amber grins. 'She's pretty, famous and wealthy - everyone wants that.'

Luckily for Amber, the cheeky video has opened a lot of doors - she's just finished filming Surfer Dude with Matthew McConaughey. It's a dream come true for the budding starlet who wants to become a huge movie star. 'It's been amazing,' she smiles.

L.A. Sheriff investigates Paris Hilton's jail time
Saturday July 14, 04:37 AM

screenshot

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has opened an investigation into whether Paris Hilton received special treatment during her 23 days in jail last month, a spokesman for the department said on Friday.
The internal investigation is looking into whether the 26-year-old hotel heiress had access to a cell phone while other inmates had to wait in line to use pay phones.
The probe will also determine whether Hilton was given a new jail uniform, instead of a recycled one like most other inmates, and finally, whether she had her mail delivered by a captain. Most mail is delivered by inmate trusties.
The accusations of special treatment were brought by deputies that approached their department's union, the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs.
The deputies' claims differ from the department's information, said Steve Whitmore, the spokesman for the L.A. Sheriff's department.
"The investigation is to get to the bottom of this. It will shed a light on what actually occurred," Whitmore said.
Earlier, the department was accused of giving Hilton special treatment when it released her for medical reasons after just three days in jail. She was ordered to return the next day to complete her sentence. She was released on June 26.
Whitmore stressed that it was always the goal of the department to treat Hilton like any other inmate.
Hilton was serving time for violating probation of an alcohol-related driving incident.
