Paying is paying and it doesn't matter if it's for 100 000 downloads or for 1 000 downloads. So by your rules you should disallow megaupload, megaporn or allow hotfile.com to be fair.

And rapidshare does't dirrectly pay uploaders but you can get 25€ voucher for points that you get for downloading. It's basically paying.

Hotfile is same like rapidshare and better like megaupload. There're no redirect to other sites, cause excessive pop ups, required registration, install javascripts. And I don't see why you should matter if it's paying uploaders.

Built into the backbone is that this should be a NONPROFIT SPAMFREE FORUM.
The joy of sharing is a reward in itself.

I haven't made this rule, and no, it's NOT the same.

A Voucher isn't money, and as I said above 1,000 downloads are less than 100,000 dl!

Example:
I get round about 10,000 points for my premium rs account, so I have not to pay for it anymore.
But no money at all.
If I had the same rating at hotfile, I would earn roughly 75 bucks/month (less 10 bucks for new month membership).

Another point is, hotfile.com is a new site without any information about the owner. Not really trustworthy IMHO.
All you can find is (whois):

Hotfile Corp.
34-20 Calle 34
Panama City, 5 PA

Record created on: 1997-12-22
Record modified on: 2009-03-20
Record expires on: 2009-12-21

I wouldn't spend money for such service, sorry.

If you don't like the rules, so it be.

Yeah, with every post i make my dick get's longer and harder Cool

But you are right, very nice words, svinto. And in times of worldwide crisis these words should be spoken more often: It's not about the money.
There are a lot of forums around that allow every kind of hoster and even these moneymaking pichosts: it's a pest surfing there.
But i agree that it is a bit irritating that megaupload is allowed when it's paying cash (even if you need 100.000 points). So the difference may be that earning money is not the main aspect when using a specific hoster. You see clearly what i mean when you look at uploaded.to or netload.in.
I think these rules are the main difference to other boards out there.
And beside that we all know that guys who are using money-making hosts are ugly and have a short [...] Wink

It's probably been hashed to death, but here's what I've noticed elsewhere:

The big 'money making' hosts are also the SLOWEST ones for us free users. I've had downloads from some of them that would never have completed as they were moving at 10KB/s. At that rate, my modem will disconnect and re-acquire the DHCP sometime during the 30 hours the download was gonna take. Rolling Eyes <abort>

Also, the more cash they hand out, the more spammers ya get using them, and the links only seem to last for 3 or 4 months whether they're downloaded or not. Nobody likes forum spammers.

I have a 'premium' RS account, but the BIG files I upload to MU 'cos it's over twice as fast to upload to them. I don't make a dime from MU, but the upload speed is nice. 40KB/s up to my 'premium' RS account is freaking PITIFUL, especially compared to >85KB/s at MU with NO account there.

let me say, hotfile, letbitnet, uploadingcom, turbobit and more other hosters spam the net full of crap crosspostings only to make money for download from eastern europa. speed is for free user a HELL of waiting time.

most boards ban all russian crap hoster. this DL hoster destroy the world of sharing. read the news from rapidshare. 5gb now in a day and 25gb can added, from 02am to 10am 90% discount to DL for premium user. is also possible to DL 18 TERAbyte in 12 month for 54,99 euro. is RS fight again the hosters, also ALL boardss must do the same!

It's not on the allowed list, so still banned here:

Arrow Permitted File Hosts, Image Hosts and Link Protectors

If people don't like the rules about not using pay download cash making hosts, they should just move on to another forum.

As soon as I see a user using those kinda hosts anywhere I immediately start ignoring that user. I don't care if what they posted is something I really would like or not. They are gone from my list.

Before you start to ignore them, you could do a small thing.
Hit this button screenshot in the post where you saw the links.
Make a comment "Unapproved hosts" and click on Submit.
Soon the links then will be history.

the problem with RS that if you files get reported , it gets deleted anyways. RS does not check for the validity of the reports.

just my thead, dozens of ym ffiles have been reported recently.

hello i try to read all here in this topics

I think this board most think about it to allowed hotfile.com
its true that hotfile pays off.......BUT
dont think you get rich from that.

real uploaders have to work hard to renew there account if they can effort it to pay from the money they get from hotfile

now rapidshare changes there rules
allot uploaders will lost there files
first they allowed 500GB a acoount, now its 25GB

and if you have more then 1 account on rs
you dont have to think twice to find a host that dont have those rules.

on rs you also get paid
big uploaders knows that.

I hope realy that this board think about it
as exembla Me i have 2000GB on RS
thats now going to hotfile .com

RS will lost costumers i am sure
they sure lost me, i dont upload anymore on rs

hope on a positive reply
thank you

I would not be surprised if hotfile has to restrict the amount of data or the storing time of unaccessed files too.
Over the years there have been several times that a file on RS was temporary not available, cause the server was down or the hdd was broken. But every file has been restored (as far as i know).
Don't know about hotfile, but i saw a few files at netload that were down and they never came back.
I'm pretty sure RS has put a lot of effort and money in backup capacities and i like that.
I believe that sooner or later hotfile has to restrict the storage time too, so no need to hurry in moving over.
There are some easy tricks to access your files on RS to prevent the 90-day deletetion and they seem to work. So storage time is really no reason to allow hotfile here.

I don´t see the problem in rapidshare new storing rules (from 20th october) where files that have been without any downloads for 90 days will be deleted. If a file have ONE download in 90 days it will stay active, so where are the problem ? If a file not have been downloaded at all for the last 90 days it´s not a big deal from my point of view if it will be deleted and it must contain real unpopular porn material.

so I read this interesting thread and here is my short opinion:
despite of what says about Hotfile...
Hotfile is not so bad at all, in fact, from my humble experience the service is very fast and CHEAPER then RS.
ok, there is this Affiliate program... so what? it pays almost NOTHING!
the bottom line, thousands of forums using Hotfile because Hotfile is a GOOD service with no doubt.
but unfortunately, in this forum not me deciding... Cool
