Anybody understand the latest news from rapidshare with those "rapids"? LOL!! Too confusing for me. Also it looks like that you can no longer convert premium points to free points so now I can't even extend for account for 12 months because I do not have nearly as my free points as premium. This is ridiculous. I think I will delete every file I have left on rapidshare today.

Looks like they fixed it now so you can convert your premium points to free points and vice versa. Also after doing a little more reading it looks like rapidshare wants you to pay a lot of money monthly now, especially if you have a lot of GB of files stored and in the process will need to put your downloads for sale through their lic mgmt system to try and make a profit or at least keep from paying too much to keep your files stored. Basically either you will be paying $6.00-$30.00/mo for 10-200GB storage and 1-20GB of daily traffic for sure. Or you can pay $80-$150/mo for 600-1200GB of storage and 60-120GB of daily traffic (This is what I came up with after seeing the cost to buy rapid points and how many points you will use per day depending on your account type) but will have the option of selling your downloads to make a profit. That's asking for a big commitment from a customer to say the least, especially for heavy uploaders as they will have the constant pressure of trying to sell their files before they use up their rapid points. An interesting thing though is that this forum does not allow downloading for affiliate/incentive paying services so since you will now be able to sell your downloads to customers I wonder if this will change things.

I don`t want to make money from my uploads, all I want is enough downloads to keep a premium account running. Now that RS has stopped giving download points I`m **** to move to Hotfile.

My sentiments exactly.

I didn't care for RS money, or gifts, I just love sharing and in return I get a Premium RS account.

Now even that has been taken away.

I will not upload to RS anymore.

I'm sorry to have RS ruin my relationship with this great forum, but if this forum doesn;t allow HF, it (relationship) will end.

did I get anything wrong about the new RS policies?

talking of myself, I have all my uploads stored on free accounts and I dont use the points to get a premium account.

I pay the 6$ for a monthly premium account just for downloading. I think 6$ for downloading 20GB each day (keep in mind that this are 600gb of data each month) is not much. nobody here in this entire forum will need that much traffic, or you need to buy a terrabyte hd every 2 month to store all the downloaded data.

for me, nothing has changed and I'm still satisfied with RS.
I pay 6$ a month, I can download TONS of data very fast. 6$ a month cant be the only reason why everybody hates RS now..

when everybody will post their stuff to hotfile now, I will need to have a premium hotfile account too.
for me its no difference if I pay the 6$ to hotfile or to RS. but in the case hotfile will become an allowed hoster here some day, RS has to be restricted then.

nobody (lets talk about leechers at first place) wants to pay for 2 premium accounts

When you get a chance you really should read the price changes and how this new system is going to work. If you currently have 20gb of download traffic per day then that means you are using or paying for 200gb of storage space which will cost 78 rapids per day to keep once everything changes over. 78x30=2340 rapid points per month (30 days). To buy 2000 rapid points costs 19.99 euros which is like $25. Plus you will need the additional 340 points to complete a full month which means buying an additional 400 rapid points which will cost another 4.99 euros which is like $6-7. So basically your account will cost you $30-35 month. This is all if you want to have all your files stored everyday. Only other option to have a decent daily download limit and not pay that much is to either go with rapid small (10gb storage or less) or with rapid medium (50gb of storage or less) and you will need to upgrade and downgrade the account depending on your download needs. For me this is too much trouble and not worth it one bit!! I think rapidshare is trying to cash out big time then run away.

Recently I did the 50000 free and 50000 premium points conversion to get 6000 rapid points. I have rapid medium which means I will use 20 rapids per day. 6000/20=300 days. If I remove files and get under 10gb of storage then it will last longer because if you use 10gb of storage or less you can use as low as 4 rapids per day. 6000/4=1500 days but will only be able to download 1gb per day. LOL!!

I had actually sent them an email regarding the issue then it got fixed. You may want to email them about it. They may be only fixing this on a request basis for each account.

But could someone pls. tell me, what other filehoster would be a good choice??

I am an typical downloader, and have even no experience with uploading. So I hope you will accept my question!

I love this forum, because it is for my opinion the best one, with the best threads and a very nice community!

My question:

The new RS paying system is for me not acceptable, because I even pay when I nothing download and if I realy much download (and often I don`t know, how much I will download in the next hours) I must pay a lot!

I am looking for a good filehoster, with a flat-paying system like rapidshare the years before and off course which is in use in the good forums like this.

Or will you all stay with rapidshare???

Thanks for information!

do not download the file from rapid to many friends, I see it in all the forums. I also see it in this forum. Dear administrators, please consider this situation. HF, SM and FS to allow. If you make a poll about this so you get better.

Always refer to this topic when in doubth of what is allowed and what is not. https://www.forumophilia.com/topic59567.html
Remember that the site you want to use has to be in the list.
