Okay let's close out this last set. I knew it would be easier but I tried to include a couple stumpers.

1. (1990) Sinead O'Connor -- I do not want what I haven't got (way to go Mozzie & Mole)
2. REM - Losing my religion (way to go Mole)
3. Tori Amos - Crucify (awesome SD, this was one of my stumpers).
4. Soul Asylum - Runaway Train (way to go and good to see you Esteban)
5. Beck - Loser (way to go Mole-hater)
6. Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight tonight (way to go Mole & SD)
7. Sublime - What I got (way to go and good to see you Orwellscomp)
8. Sarah McLachlan - Angel (way to go Mole-hater and Mozzie)
9. Massive Attack - Teardrop (my other stumper)
10. (1999) Creed - Higher (way to go Orwellscomp)

I LOVE chill-out music, but it grew out of electronica and Trip-hop, so I couldn't let the 90's go by without some sort of reference. Portishead would have been preferred, but that Massive Attack song received HUGE airplay all over, and if you think you've never heard it -- you're probably wrong. Very Happy Thievery Corporation, Morcheeba, Lamb, Tricky, Zero 7 -- yep yep.

Tori Amos is awesome, IMHO she's got a lot to do with the whole women's singer/songwriter movement of the 90's. Of course there were others before her, but still ... well, there ya go.

Avril? Alanis? Chantal Kreviazuk? Ummm. Hands down my favorite Canadian artist is Sarah McLachlan. If she hadn't married her friggin' drummer (bastard) I would have tried to be a roadie for her in the mid-90s. With a voice like that, she could look like Elmo for all I care. As I said, RM does chick-rock, unlike Mole. Embarassed Must be my inner Lesbian coming out. Don't worry, I won't bring up that whole Lesbimen thing again, although Terry has been lurking.

Harvey Danger? Shocked Hah! Twisted Evil "Been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding." 'Nuff said.

"Soy un perdedor, I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me.
Get crazy with the cheez-wiz."

'Nuff said. Laughing

Mole, regarding Brad -- yep, I'm feelin' ya. Look up the word "potential" and you see his picture (among others like Mr. Cobain, who was murdered, by the way). What could have been. Hard to believe that 1 month from today will be the 10th anniv of his death.

Angelus, I'm with you on the best Pumpkins song. Rat, Mole, Tamarin, Sealion, Marmoset, Mr. Bill, whatever's in that cage, well, that is one FUCKING FANTASTIC GODPOUNDING-GOOD LYRIC. Exclamation

SD, you takin' the reins again? Let me know. I could continue my verbose stint as guest Dee-Jay if you want -- but its your world, the rest of us are just livin' in it. Gotta go to sleep early tonight, getting a bit of a sniffle. And oh, by the way, here its 4:00am (but I don't go to work until 2pm). Smile I'm out.

Sir D

1) Seems like yesterday, but it was long ago, Janie was lovely she was the queen of my night

2) When its love you give, I'll be a man of good faith, when in love you live, I'll make a stand I wont break, I'll be the rock you can lean on.

3) Life is one big party when you're still young, but who's gonna have your back when it's all done, It's all good when you're little, you have pure fun, Can't be a fool, son, what about the long run

4) Its one thing to ask why we break up, Have you ever wondered why we fall in love.

5) Do you remember a guy that's been, In such an early song, I've heard a rumour from Ground Control, Oh no, don't say it's true

6) The way you shake it, I can't believe it, I ain't never seen an ass like that, The way you move it, you make my pee pee go d-doing doing doing

7) The heart is a bloom, Shoots up through the stony ground, There's no room, No space to rent in this town

8) Come, as you are. As you were. As I want you to be. As a friend. As a friend. As an old enemy. Take your time.

9) Goin’ home, late last night, Suddenly I got a fright, Yeah I looked throught the window and surprised what I saw

10) I would have given you all of my heart, but there someone who's torn it all apart.

"Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then."

Only 3 open ones left, and you've got me stumped on one (dammit).

#2. That smarmy song "All for Love" by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, and Sting. Only reason I know this is because Bryan Adams is HUGELY popular here in India (?????) and I had the "pleasure" of hearing his Best of Me CD again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and ... Who'd have thought that my living in India would help me with this distraction. Rolling Eyes

#9. Black Sabbath -- Faeries wear Boots. Dedicated to Agnomenamedgrimblekrumble. Surprised Tamarin didn't chime in and get this one.

#3. ???????????

Good set Darkfather. Hey, ANY set with my absolute favorite Bog Seger song is Brilliant! Top notch, top notch.

"The years rolled slowly past, and I found myself alone
Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends
Found myself further and further from my home
I guess I lost my way, there were oh so many roads
I was living to run and running to live
Never worrying about paying or even how much I owed."

And just like that, I'm back in a tent outside of Laz Cruces, New Mexico.

well doen I cant believe you guys got Black Sabbath, Ameil, and didnt get Shaggy. oh well heres some more to take you back.

1) you've got a lot of nerve, to say you are my friend, when I was down you just stood there grinning.

2) I dont care if you never come home, I dont mind if you just, keep on rolling away on a distant sea, cause I dont love you and you dont love me.

3) Once was a sweet thing, baby, Held that love in our hands, But now I reach to kiss your lip-s, It just don't mean a thing

4) Elvis he's a hero he's a superstar and I hear that Paul McCartney drives a rolls royce car and Dylan sings for millions and I just sing for free.

5) Its not in the way that you hold me, its not in the way you say you care, its not in the way you've been treating my friends, its not in the way you stay till the end, its not in the way you look or the things that you say that you do.

6) I know that it's over, But I can't believe we're through, They said that time's a healer and I'm better without you, It's gonna take time I know, But I'll get over you

7) So hard, finding inspiration, I knew you'd find me crying, tell those girls with rifles for mind, that their jokes dont make me laugh, they only make me feel like dying.

8) Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnnie Ray, South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggio.

9) Your a song, written by the hands of god, Don't get me wrong cause this might sound to you a bit odd

10) Been beat up and battered around, Been sent up and I've been shut down

here you go peoples.

Hey, RM, I was reading your post and comments about Tori Amos. She is an experience live! I saw her at the Beacon, in NYC, and she was riveting! And, I swear, she was staring right at me for like 10 seconds - my girlfriend was like, "She staring at you! She's staring at you!" Cool feeling! Between one of the songs, she started talking about Jim Morrison and Robert Plant, and she says, "C'mon, girls, I know you were friggin' yourselves to these guys, RIGHT?!" Cool chick - very wierd, though!

It's an easy one, but the lyric is cool...what song is this from?

"So you found a girl who thinks really deep thoughts...
What's so amazing about really deep thoughts?
Boy you best pray that I bleed real soon.
How's that thought for ya?"

Another NYC concert memory... Seeing Pearl Jam at the L imelight right before 10 broke. During Porch, Eddie climbs onto the outside of the railing on the second floor(for those who have never been to the L imelight - it was an old church at one time, and has two floors open so the second floor has a clear view of the whole groundfloor...). As the musical section rolls on, he goes all the way around the outside of the railing above the floor - hi-fiving everyone, with this crazed look in his eyes! He went from the other side of the place all the way around to about 10 feet from me, and stares right through me like I wasn't there - eyes totally intense! And he looks back behind him, and down 20 feet to the floor...and he let go of the railing and fell right into everyone's hands - 20 feet below! At the L imelight, if they didn't l ike you, they got out of the way when you dived. Unfucking believable! The whole place(a 400 seat capacity with 600 in it)went nuts! Amazing moment!

Try this lyric...

"Oh, please, let it rain today.
This city, so filthy,
like my mind in ways..."
