Mole, I totally love your 2nd and 3rd quotes, and the RWE will now be a keeper for me. I'm a quote collector, plus I'm one of those different-path unconventional idiots who have had multiple careers, have too much edumacation, get married and divorced, live in strange places, and do crazy things like go homeless on purpose (I did for 3 years). We don't like wedding receptions and inane parties though, where all people do is talk about their jobs and their kiids, so we usually get annoying and talk about living in a ger in Mongolia or some such thing (don't get me wrong, jobs are important and there are very few things if anything more important than family and kiids). The Universe also makes sure that guys like me don't procreate either. Rolling Eyes Anyway sorry about the "gay" comment. Come on, give us a kiss. Cool

Sealion, I got a PM from the same twerp. He told me to tell you "Bite me but thanks for helping out." Laughing Laughing

Oobooloo, GREAT to see you checkin' in around these parts. If we could just get MM, we'd have all the Godfathers in here. And since Sealion will probably be a Godfather by, oh, what, this Wednesday, we'll be covered already.

Heh heh heh. Still no word from the Darkfather, so I may just post another set in a while ... since this last one is kicked now.

1. (1990) Queensryche - Silent Lucidity
2. (1991) Jesus Jones - Right here Right now
3. (1992) KD Lang - Constant Craving
4. (1993) Radiohead - Creep
5. (1994) Seal - Prayer for the Dying
6. (1995) Alanis Morissette - Head Over Feet
7. (1996) Rage Against the Machine - Bulls on Parade
8. (1997) The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
9. (1998) Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
10. (1999) Dido - Here With Me

The KD Lang hit "Constant Craving" (way to go Mozzie and Dionysus!) is simply awesome, so much emotion and aching tied up in the song/lyri.cs. I think most women get it, and perhaps fewer men -- but to anyone who can relate, it resonates in an all-too-familiar way. Painful, but necessary. Ouch. Sad I bet DiabolicAngelz can relate.

Contrast with one of my favorite kick-ass bands RATM! Yeah! Fuck YEAH! Fuck you I won't do what you tell me! Fuck you I won't do what you tell me! Fuck you I won't do what you tell me! FUCKYOUIWON'TDOWHATYOUTELLME! MOTHERFUCKER!!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Ahem. Oops, that's from their first album... Embarassed

The eponymous Seal album from 1994 is in my own personal top ten of all time (and I have a very, very, long list). If you're not familiar with it consider this a recommendation.

Radiohead? I think Creep was their biggest hit, at least in the US, but history should remember them as one of the greatest, most seminal, and most groundbreaking bands of the era. IMESHO.

Thanks to all for participating. Very Happy

Your wish is my command, Darkfather. Glad you liked the previous one, even if you didn't get to chime in.

Rather than do the 80's, 70's, or 60's, I've got another one from the 90's ready and rarin' to go. After all ... from the movie "Contact" ... let's remember the first rule of government spending: Why build one when you can build two at twice the price? Rolling Eyes

Same as before, one from each year. No Pearljam or Nirvana. I think its a little bit easier than the last set, although I tried for a stumper or 2. Blah blah blah. Very Happy

1. (1990) I'm walking through the desert, and I am not frightened although it's hot, I have all that I requested.

2. (1991) I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.

3. I've been looking for a savior in these dirty streets, looking for a savior beneath these dirty sheets, I've been raising up my hands. Drive another nail in, just what God needs, one more victim.

4. Call you up in the middle of the night, like a firefly without a light. You were there like a slow torch burning, I was a key that could use a little turning.

5. Forces of evil on a bozo nightmare, ban all the music with a phony gas chamber, 'cause one's got a weasel and the other's got a flag, one's on the pole, shove the other in a bag.

6. And you know you're never sure, but you're sure you could be right, if you held yourself up to the light. And the embers never fade in your city by the lake, the place where you were born.

7. Early in the morning, rising to the street, light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet. Got to find a reason, a reason things went wrong. Got to find a reason why my money's all gone.

8. Spend all your time waiting, for that second chance, for a break that would make it okay. There's always one reason, to feel not good enough, and it's hard at the end of the day.

9. Love, love is a verb, love is a doing word. Fearless on my breath, gentle impulsion, shakes me makes me lighter, fearless on my breath.

10. (1999) When dreaming I'm guided to another world, time and time again, at sunrise I fight to stay asleep. 'Cause I don't want to leave the comfort of this place, 'cause there's a hunger, a longing to escape, from the life I live when I'm awake.

#8 Sarah McHoweveryouspellit "Angel" I happen to know mole had an ex-girlfriend that used to play Sarah CD's all the time, drove him nuts...he put up with it because she was a hot redhead...

Boy that mole is a LOSER!!!!

Speaking of "Loser" #5 is Beck, I like songs that mention Monkeys for some reason...

KD Lang from the last set, should have known why mole and I would not have recognized it. She caused a ruckus about beef production that had repercussions down in the states also. Around here she was pretty much banned due to the agrarian nature of our state...

Animal welfare of a non-endangered, domesticated for a reason animal VS. a nice juicy steak...hmmm, pass the A-1 Very Happy

Gee, RM, these are are a bit tough, however my guess for 8 ). is:
Angel, and I'll go with Sarah McLachlan for 1999.

Also, I'm having a problem with 1). - I think it was Sinead O'Connor (I can see her singing in my mind) but I put a name to the song... Confused

Mole, can you help me out here? Wink

What about Bullet With Butterfly Wings? Right at the end I can imagine you singing "...despite all my rage I am still just a Mole in a cage..."

Hmmm.when you put it that way, I may have to change allegience...

I do like Harvey Danger "Flagpole Sitta" for singing about moles though, plus it has the great line "I'm not sick, but I'm not well" Laughing Laughing Laughing

Now he sounds like a Douglas Adams character!screenshot You're going to have to post rinks to his songs.

Well you get a screenshot angelus71, for being the first to catch my little homage to one of the funniest guys ever. Seeing the little flag under your avatar, no wonder! Been meaning to ask, is that all Hitman stuff?

Went looking for the song, seeing if I could get an mp3 of the song to put up, but I found none for free, and too lazy to buy it this time of night, filling out forms and such...

If you are interested, they are an alternative group from Seattle, and in my search I found that you can download their latest album for free at their website www.harveydanger.com I did and it sounds good so far. They wanted people who DL it to spread the word, so I have now done my duty Exclamation
