Another useful analogy: if a road had absolutely no speed limit, then
society could indeed rely on 99% of the people to nevertheless drive at a
safe speed. But the problem is, there will always be that last 1% of the
population, filled with utterly stupid, shallow, reckless, immature idiots
who just plain cannot and will not accept any limits as being "reasonable".
And they will end up killing other (innocent) people. If you doubt it, take a
look at what happened n Montana -- a huge and pretty much empty state -
- when they completely removed any speed limits from some of their
highways. They had good reasons for doing so. But within a few years,
they realized they had made a bad mistake, and had failed to take
adequately into account the tendency of a reckless and stupid (small)
minority to kill, not just themselves, but innocent people as well. So, they
adopted speed limits again.

Most parts of German highways don't have speed limits and things work pretty fine there.
Also, comparing society with a game of tennis on a parking lot is too simplifying, I think.

I don't know Max Hardcore, nor have I ever seen any of his vids. I just think that the government should never convict anyone because of bad taste, no matter how distastefull content may be.
The one and only exception is the case in which people get objectively, physically or psychologically hurt or abused. This should never be tolerated.
As I've never seen Max Hardcore's vids (and considering the described content, I'm pretty sure I never will), I can't judge this specific case, so I'm just talking about the issue in general.

I just realized I've never come across the ACLU sticking their fingers into this case. They never miss an opportunity to fight to allow anyone to do whatever they want no matter who else might get hurt by it.

fucht, I did not say I approved of Max's videos. I have seen many.
I usually like the first few minutes which I said in an earlier post in this thread.

In my last post I said the models knew what they were getting into.
They did not just come through his front door and make a movie. I stand by that.

You don't know what your talking about.
You have no more information than I do.
and you certainly don't know me or my values.

While I'm not sure if he should be charged with lying to his models or whatever, it's pretty clear that for the actual crime, he did not deserve what he got.

As mentioned in the first few great posts, this really does set a very dangerous legal precedent that can be used to illegalize almost any porn at all.

I have reported the post with the spamquote, Millenium.
You could have done the same yourself by using the report button screenshot found at the top right of every post.

EDIT:
Gone even before I had finished writing this reply.

Nothing to be sorry about. I bet most members aren't aware of it.
I just took the opportunity to spread the word a little.

Even if Max's stuff is offensive to some people, as long as all parties involved are consenting adults, I don't see the problem....

I go to work, do my job and get paid. I don't always like doing my job. Sometimes I hate it. But I do it, and I get paid.

They do the same thing. Not liking what you do doesn't mean you didn't consent.
