I'm pretty close to calling it a day with Forumophilia.

Whatever compromises are made, these changes have left a real sour taste in my mouth and I'm not sure I want to be a part of the forum any more.

Let me tell you about that largest image board of the world... I won't say the name...but "memes" are generated there..and "lulz"...I have been at that board since 2006 and ALL I could hear from the users there SINCE 2006 was that that board was dead. During that time nevertheless the traffic of that board exploded from 10,000.000 to now 705,000,000 page impressions per month. Those are 705 MILLION views a month.

And ALL I hear from that board is "this site is dead" and "give us back our board like it was 2006".

Telling me that I am somewhat betraying this board while I at least try to make things at least a bit better is hard.

Two weeks ago, I was able to update my three threads daily with my sets uploaded to my File Host of choice and promote it with an upload to my image host of choice. I can still do all of that (eventually). But what I cannot do is prevent my links from being pulled down within minutes of them being put up.

Go back to my old Bounty thread. Unprotected or under-protected links and every last one of them is dead like whatever the fuck you're talking about. Now go to the Village or my Wayback MMMachine (2 or 3) or my Q3 threads. The only dead sets are the ones that went too long without a DL. Why? Because they were protected. Safety? Popups? Grow up - block your popups and install jdownloader or risk the consequences.

If that isn't specific enough, I don't know what is. But to answer your other question - two weeks ago, I never had to talk to anybody about anything - nothing was fucking broken. We talked to people around here because we liked each other. But while I actually have your attention and we're talking about rules, I noticed this a few minutes ago...

Your thread limitation solution is in fact one idea that was generated as some other board where I tried to reduce the VERY significant post flooding.

I WILL suggest that here right away. At least those "the very best of my collection" threads are not useful at all in my opinion.

the MAIN problem is with the "one thread to rule them all" solution (how I named it back then when I suggested it") is, that many users MASSIVELY protested because they said it is not fair to merger the lesbian, BDSM, pissing and shemale stuff into ONE giant thread.

So effectively NOTHING changed since "those guys" just continued to use very different topics you simply could not merge (as I explained).

All that was left was the more general idea to only make "Quality Postings" , So I personally believe that the 25 posts per day solution is the MOST strict and yet MOST effective way to reduce the massive flooding.

And I can tell you that I know some guys that post up to 600 (!!!) videos a day in over 30 threads. The effect was that the MAIN boards were TOTALLY ruled by 5 or 6 guys making new posts every 20 seconds (!!!).

I don't want to have this here - not even in the "main porn board" and the "clip" section.

Yes, those forums do exist. I called them "zombie forums" that were slowly infected with some deadly "mass flooding post" virus. So I tried to warn the admins about that upcoming problem since I almost know ALL the major porn forums around the world (I indeed do) and thus almost all the "guys" .

MY suggestion would be to limit the total amount of posts to perhaps 35-40 and 3 different threads. OR you chose to use ONE thread where you can use up ALL of your 40 posts.

I would STRONGLY oppose the hope of reasonable "fast posters" since we would probably have the described problem of 600 posts a day per "power user" within some weeks.

I made a screenshot of that nice comment after 2 years of dedicated posting on that board. At pltszy ANY linkprotection is banned anyway. Same at EXB - just to name you the big 5 now.

And I know: you don't care about the world outside of FO.

And finally: THOSE link-protectors do NOT protect your links at all. they might prolong the period of time until your files are deleted - but they WILL be deleted if you are using the wrong file hoster. And I experienced that with RS and lnksv.in

My I kindly remind you all that even MU pays you 10,000$ for 5 million unique IP downloads????
It seems that everybody is totally ignoring the fact that MU is some hoster paying you out CASH for the traffic you generate. And as far as I can remember even RS paid CASH at least until March. Or paid you out with some nice amazon coupons and cameras...hmm?

I just wanted to say that at some degree every hoster wants to make money. And as you may have noticed: MU and RS are allowed here.

Actually I am very grateful to you, Di Natali, for the great stuff you have been posting.

I really have a hard time seeing the problem - if you have 600 quality videos (a decent length, good quality and resolution and a modern codec) and you post them in a short time - then I can't really see how that can be seen as spamming.

I mostly(almost exclusively) post softcore sets from the major sites (Femjoy,Met,W4B,Errotica,MCN etc.) and yes if I haven't posted in a few days my threads go down the list, but then I could just post my sets more often. I wouldn't call other people posting their sets spamming.

It just have to be up to the mods to merge threads which are too small or plainly made to get on the top of the list, but posting quality material is not bumping your thread.

But to make sure that people don't mass-post a lot of sets videos quickly, you could make some rules about how many thumbnails there should be, how much info, maybe the layout etc.

This is how I post on another forum:

Some Idea I have could be to allow 50 or more posts a day at special sections of the board like "babe pictures" ONLY. I am not sure if that is a cure or cancer for those boards.

Another possibility would be to RISE the amount of allowed posts with some more positive reputation you get by "thumbs up" or "thank you" you may collect for every post you make.

I think I would suggest my last idea: If the people really love your posts and you get a positive response you should be allowed to post more in your thread.

On the other hand they would have to install and program that "reputation" script collecting and counting all of your "thumbs ups" or "thumbs down" for your posts. I have no idea how hard that is regarding the programming. I know though that EB was down for 3 weeks due to those new features last year.
