Yes we would still be unhappy.

Previously there was no restriction on the number of posts per day. Why? Because this type of spam poster had no place on the board.

The number of prolific posters updating many times a day wasn't enough to bury the threads of less frequent posters. There was no problem.

No.

Trouble is, as you concede, that would impact the well meaning and older posters too (should they wish to continue). I, for example, may only find the time to update my threads on the weekend, or once every two weeks, and would want to upload many picture sets in one day. To keep things tidy I post one picture set per post. This is nothing to do with post-count (I couldn't care less). There is no possible way I could continue contributing here anymore under the new (b:0) rules. I want to be left alone to post when and how I want to, without breaking the rules. There were no problems before the Oron crowd were mysteriously made aware that FO was a new untapped oil field to boost their precious income.

They're too busy trying to post as much stuff at as many boards as possible. All you'll get is them posting the bare minimum thread introductions just to meet the rules.

I understand you. But as far as I can see those guys DO NOT post in the "babes pictures section" at all - or barely.

Your threads are in no way influenced by that. Or are they?

Admittedly I posted mainly in the pictures section, though I do have some video threads too. It doesn't change my point, it's not all about me.

I don't believe a single disgruntled regular ever suggested a rule as restrictive as that.

I'm glad you've stopped using bold and CAPS at least.

Yes, the way this was announced by RS in such an abrupt way, with no further explanation, was entirely disrespectful to mods and members. In addition to him saying "use Oron" before it was included in the list of approved filehosts. What a way to run a forum.

I hope to see you elsewhere, sigmaproject, another of the castaways drifting on the ocean, hoping to escape their stricken homeland and wash up on some bountiful island, amongst trustful friends and pretty young ladies...

I have to be honest. I'm just arguing for argument's sake here. Benedict Ayebite makes an easy target. I wouldn't post another photo worth of content on the New Good Samaritan's site if I was paid to (oh wait, that's kind of the point, isn't it?). I never made a quid, other than free RS and MU renewals, from posting here and I never wanted to. The rule I posted last night has already been rewritten like so many others leaving confusion and more lies and excuses and bullshit.

Ayebyte, you can talk to me until you're blue in the face about link protectors and how they cause AIDS, but I don't fucking care. I used secured.in before you got here and no matter what it does, it's better than any of you (you being the royal "we" you like to throw around so much even though you're not a mod or an owner or whatever) because it was here before you turned my favourite place into a barren soulless wasteland. What can any of you new regime say to make us feel ok about you doing that? And what could I possibly say to make you all just go the fuck away and ruin somebody else's good time? And don't try to tell me that you "share [our] great sadness". If you did, you'd be on our side. Just moved? Where to smart-ass? Tell me where I should go to get away from you and I'm there.

I would suggest that you open up your own forum, pay a monthly bill of about 2,000$ a for the traffic and enjoy the right of doing whatever you want.

Basically I don't care at all if you insult me. I have no personal connection to the owner, the admin or ORON. I am running my own forum, I am mod on other boards since 2005. I guess that is why I was made mod here. I landed here in 2005 when teenfuns and FM-teens was still legal to be posted here. I enjoyed the culture of this board.

By the way: ever thought why there is a new structure here? Why the previous "oh so holy old owner" of this forum let this happen? I would suggest that you write that guy some nice letters why he totally acted in favor of the long term members of this board and let this happen.

This board changed. If you want to bash and trash some guy responsible for anything that was done to this board I suggest you do that by contacting the new runner of this board, not me.

I am trying to help to move things back to the wishes of the last quantum of old members that are still posting here. I was reading the discussion with GS silently for 2 days when I finally decided to step inside the discussion. It would have been much easier just to sit back and relax and do nothing at all.

To be honest I have no solution to this mess. At least we do not have a forum where 40-50 guys are posting up to 600 videos a day. I could give you some links to those boards. There are boards that were bought by shrmtrx in the past weeks that have just the same problem - even worse.
I am sitting on my als*can siterip as you know and I am not able to post that here - only 5 posts a day. Do you think I am happy with that?

Rolling Eyes At least ayebite responds and gives an opinion. A moderator, at the very least, should introduce themselves, talk to the forum, and let themselves be known.

Much better than the other "ghost" mods who say nothing to anyone.

Now things are moved to the archieve thread (really the bad boy thread) with no explanation of who moved it!

What don't you believe?
That I first came here in 2005???
Or that it was the OLD owner who is actually responsible for the things that happened here?

Well, if I decide to give MY own forum to somebody else then I guess I would be responsible for that action, don't you think so?

I got some mails from users with various ideas how to solve that posting limit problem.

1) The first idea that somebody sent me was according to my own idea that members with higher reputation should be allowed to make more posts per day.

The old user ranking plainly based on the postings already made would not be sufficient for obvious reasons. My idea is to make some "post rating" system like on suzy or EB where you can give thumbs up for good posts. I can assure you that the mass posters do only have very few thumbs up although most have way beyond 4,000+ total posts at many forums.

2) My second idea is that you can save up your daily 5 or more posts so that you can use them on one day if you are able only to post on Saturday or Sunday.

Any thoughts?

Why is this an issue!

If I want to make 15 posts a day in my video thread, than I will make 15 posts.

None of the new mods will tell me what to do.
I rather have them throw me out then... Very Happy

I guess you haven't been moderating very much before (no offense) This just creates a high workload. (and a lot of multiple accounts)

Simply remove that rule. Wink

IMO this "spam"-discussion popped up, because in no time there was a flood of posts - of a sort, which had been strictly prohibited before.

I'd recommend using [MU] [oron] [RS] in topic-titles - this way everyone who considers RS or oron==spam can easily ignore a topic Idea

Arrow here's a couple rules from another board - seem reasonable to me.

you're allowed to post max. 15 videos per day.No matter if you post them in one thread (megathread) or as individual threads

-you must post the filehost(s) you use in your thread title e.g. (mu),[rs],{sm}
Do not write the complete name,e.g. (hotfile),[rapidshare]

you can change the number of posts to suit this boards desire. Let's not get too deep or complicated.

Looks like a lot of changes here. Very Happy

BTW; how can we tell who is a mod? Is there a list of the forum leaders somewhere ?

As for the 5 posts/day thing. At a certain forum where I am a mod we have a 5 posts/thread rule to control spamming. Perhaps an idea for here as well?
