The announcement says "we’ve picked two file hosting services:" apart from GS who else made the call on ORON, or is GS using the pluralis maiestatis "we"

I wonder why the word "Payola" keeps springing to mind. For those not old enough to remember (or so old they've forgotten) the word Payola was coined in the 1950's to refer to the gratuities in money, goods and nefarious services that disk jockeys, such as Alan Freed, received from recording artists for playing their records - over, and over, and over.

Let's be truthful about it, there are some mega threads in here, which keep people come back. Without premium uploaders like arovane, moi232 or dalecooper69 (just to mention three - there are a lot more), this forum is not half as good as now. Their threads are the heart and sole of forumophilia and the only reason I come here every day. If they leave, a lot of users will follow. Me, too. In my opinion the ban of rapidshare it is like suicide to this board.

So I really hope you can reconsider your decision and accept, that people do want to use rapidshare.

What do you mean Forumophilia is corrupt, greedy and does not serve its purpose? What a strange thing to say - it's bordering insulting to all the members who use Rapidshare to share their files. It doesn't even come close to answering the question about why RS has been banned.

And you don't see a problem switching, 'not even financially' - what about people who already have Rapidshare accounts? Now we have to have an account for Rapidshare (as it's the internet standard that pretty much EVERY site I know uses) AND one for Megaupload or whatever.

Sorry, your post didn't answer any of my questions or concerns and seemed to trivialise the concerns of members here.

I have to agree that RS made some boneheaded changes with RSmedium and RSbig, but they reverted it pretty quickly once the users revolted.

In their new system, we actually get *more* time than the old system. I hope the management here will reconsider the ban on RS, particularly if it will mean not alienating some of the most consistent posters.

how will this forum grow and expand to the most badass forum out there when the uploaders have all left? Are you going to post everything? Are the owners?

If it's the owners, they certainly have the right to change whatever they see fit to change. Had I arrived at this site in three months time and all posts were on this new uploader, I guess I would in a way be happier than I was when I joined years ago, wondering whether to invest in Rapid, Megaup, Megatheother or the other ones used. So in time this will save people money, maybe.

The maybe is that I feel this site is not so much the owners as the posters, and their wishes are being ignored. I myself was happy enough to continue posting to Megaupload, but I don't want to have to create a duplicate on the new uploaders. The posters are the ones doing us all a favour here. Without them, there is no site.

I fear the only question that is remaining, is one already asked. Where is everybody going to go and where will the new number one forum be. Which is a darn shame. But I think this is going to happen now.

Looking back at all my posts, that were in many cases, posted pictures of models on this sites servers, they are now all gone. That was a lot of time and effort all for nought. All my posts that are megaupoad posts now have no preview pics, because I put them all here. Not sure I even kept the preview pics, as I never thought actions taken, would ever be taken.

Oh well. Can someone keep me informed by PM if anything else happens please.
