I really liked that board and I was loyal all the time… but this just s*cks and I will definitly not change my file hoster. I'm just a single user that downloads and shares a little bit, but I guess I'm not the only one that feels that way and that way Forumophilia won't last long.

I've just read this thread. One thing I wanted to say off the bat, is that a lot of people just don't visit this part of the forum and so many will post to now banned uploaders. Might it not be an idea to send a general PM to everyone on something of this magnitude?

I don't post to rapidshare, I post to megaupload. When I came to this forum, I found only two services were used, rapidshare and megaupload. So I got memberships to both. Now I totally dislike what Rapidshare have done. I've written to them about it. But that is only my personal opinion.

I would have thought leaving people to post to Rapidshare if they want to would have been the fair way. If the posters don't like the new system on Rapidshare, they'll move soon enough. The trouble with outlawing it, is that users like me who have paid in advance, posters unlike me who have posted vast quantities of material and still want to, are going to clear off. All this seems to have done is damage the site. We're not just talking some small posters, we're talking some of the biggest hitters here going elsewhere.

One question, will all rapidshare posts be removed from the site?

I was worried when the site owner said he was unsure due to formopholia politiics. It's not so much politics, as us expressing our opinions? We all seem to love the site. The others, the big hitters, as I call them, are more to do with the success, than hundreds of us that primarily download. But if there's nothing left to download, people will do elsehwere.

I am bemused by the decision and hope it can be reversed. I think all of us are not happy with Rapidshare, but I do believe people should have a choice. Although I guess the counter argument is they have the choice to leave this site, which it may already be too late, many may do or will do.

And if it hasn't come across, I still love this place, but this is shocking news.

The only explanation is money. Any other reason given is just a BS cover. I'm holding out hope that common sense will prevail but it could just be wishful thinking. The RS ban will be the death of this Forum.

RS messed up but at least they had the courage to fix it.
Whoever came up with the new Forumophila rules needs to show the same courage and rescind the ban on RS.
As has been said in so many words by many of the respected posters, this is truly the "height of stupidity".
If no RS links, then the site will simply die as no one is going to use the two hosting providers they suggest.

Rapidshare changed it's own bad decission, F.Ophilia should do the same. By the way I tought it was a Philia toward Forums not Ophilia as the new name sugests.

Or is it some conspiracy behind all this, with one goal> shutting down forumophilia the best (teen) porn forum in the world?!

As I have got a low post count and basically zero contributions, I doubt anyone will care much, but... yeah, this is a terrible way to do it.

1. Dropping Rapidshare which, despite it's current wackiness, is still one of if not the largest filehosts on the net is.. an odd choice. But one I can respect if not for...
2. Basically zero warning. If you are removing one of the largest filehosts, you need at least a month (if not more) of warning. Inform people, global announcement titled "Rapidshare will soon be banned - Approved File Host List Here" or something like that.
3. What the hell is oron? I mean, I have been here, I have been there, I know of [a site on the censored list, one that has high temperature files], mediafire, megaporn, DepositFiles, badongo, zShare, file factory, 4shared, and a half dozen or more others who's name escape me. I have never heard of oron before today. I'm not going to lie and say that I have been everywhere and that it's not possible for something that's been around for almost 10 years to escape my notice, as that appears to be what happened here but... again, I've never heard of it before today. Rapidshare is still the big dog, with probably Megaupload or Megaporn being the #2 in the adult filesharing biz. I just don't get it.

So that's basically it. I don't understand why a forum would shoot itself in the foot by forbidding the largest file sharing service, especially one that many members have probably joined and still have another month (or more) left on their bill. If you put a dying time in, people have time to phase out their Rapidshare subscription and get an Oron one. They have time to start moving their collections to a new home at Oron. They get the impression that the administration cares about the userbase.

This? This just seems... short-sighted.
