I should have gotten Red Red Wine. Good mix, not too hard, not too easy. I think this is a great time to get this thread fired back up and have fun again.

OK, I’ll try this again. Be advised there are some really hard ones on here (one I never even heard of!), but there’s a theme and choices were really limited on a couple of them. To make up for it, I think there are enough really easy ones to give the theme away and you can go from there. Some have been covered many times so the original artists may cause debate.
Ya know Jeff, every time I see one of your posts I think about swimming pools for some strange reason.

1. Love you ev'ry day girl,
Always on my mind.
One thing I can say girl,
Love you all the time.

2. Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream

3. Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you...

4. out past the fountain a left by the station I start the day
in the usual way
then think -- well why not --
and stop for a coffee
then begin to recall things that
you say
no one's at the door
you suggest a ghost
perhaps a phantom
I agree with this in part
something is with us
I can't put my finger on

5. In the tiny piece of coloured glass my love was born
And reds and golds and yellows were the colours in the dawn.
Night brought on its purple cloak of velvet to the sky

6. Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl, she's so pretty
She looks fine tonight
She is outa' sight to me

7. It's getting late have you seen my mates
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer

My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady she don't care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair

8. Oh, you can kiss me on a cool day a hot day a wet day
which ever one you choose
Or try to kiss me on a grey day a May day a pay day
and see if I refuse

And if you make it on a bleak day a freak day or a week day
Well you can be my guest

Told you there were some gimmes.
Good to see you on a more fun board. Very Happy
Have you any clue what my super enigmatic theme could possibly be?
Now I'm waiting for Shadow to jump all over one of the others.

Can't believe 'Bob missed the Beatles! Very Happy And the theme would be days of the week. Off the top of my head, U2 could have been an alternate for Sunday, the Mamas and the Papas for Monday, Simon & Garfunkel for Wednesday, and the Monkees for Saturday. Cool Good theme!

Monday, Monday WAS my first choice, but every about every line has a day of the week in it and I didn't want to serve this up on a platter. I have to admit that I didn't even think about Simon and Gar Farkle.
I picked Never on Sunday because I thought many people would ALMOST know it but have to gnaw on it a while while Sunday, Bloody Sunday would be a cinch for guys like you and 'Bob As for 8 Days a Week, I can only assume he left some for everyone else out of the kindness of his heart.
Of the rest, Thursday's really old, Wednesday's fairly new, and that last one's been covered so many times it can be considered both.

I got it the third time around. By then I had already read your answer at least once. After it clicked I remembered that you had already said what the song was

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday still stump me.

Got 'em. Friday on My Mind was originally by an Aussie band, the Easybeats, that really wasn't Australian and has been covered by almost everyone at some time. A couple members (including the writer) were Dutch and the rest were from England and Scotland.
Good job. Aw shit, there go visions of Phoebe climbing out of the pool again.

Maybe you'll recognize the chorus

Gonna have fun in the city,
Be with my girl she's so pretty,
She looks fine tonight,
She is out of sight to me,
Tonight....I spend my bread,
Tonight...I lose my head,
Tonight...I got to get tonight
Monday I have Friday on my mind.

There's a video of Gary Moore's version live in Stockholm on Y*otube, check it out. His guitar playing is worth a listen in any event.

Damn, had to stop laughin so I could answer. Laughing Laughing Actually, I was thinking of a wee bit before that, if you can believe it, but, to quote Bob Hope, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
I better stop watching that before I piss myself.

What's his line there? "Holy shit, doesn't anybody knock any more?" or something like that.

If they all had listened up to what the Kramer headed turkey told them they wouldn't find themselves in those situations. My Favorite Martian listend and look at what a happy fellow he was.

It's about time, it's about space, it's about something or other in the strangest place........
