Some people who know a lot more than I do about these things (although let's face it that includes virtually everyone including my cat) say that a link protector is completely unnecessary. They say it's just as effective to use the code facility:

Code:
http://www.yourlink.com

or to hide the link with text or an image:

[url=http://www.yourlink.com]text or image link[/url]

Mhm, I'm not greatly fond of link protectors in most situations, but they're not *completely* useless in the case of long lists of links (think siterips or collections of sets), because they prevent a simple copy and paste to report all of the links at once -- **** manual labor on the part of the reporter can slow them down. They don't have really much of an advantage for single links, though, since it's so easy to extract the actual link from them.

How about adding File Cloud?

-------------------------

Only one time in the time that I have been using FC has there been a complaint and that from a poster here who later admitted he probably did not understand how to down the file and wanted me to re post it at a host that he was a premium member of. I do know that i get thousands of downs a week from here since I have been posting here

I remember I was involved in this and after my investigation FileCloud was taken off the Banned Host List.
My recommendation to the moderators, who are maintaining the Approved list, is to add them.

AKAbob wondered where the Banned hostsite list are.
https://www.forumophilia.com/topic25868.html

@treehh You where complaining about RS up-/down-load speed.
The limitations you are experiencing is due to the fact you are a Free User and don't have a Premium account.
My upload speed ranges between 500kB and 1 MB per second as a Premium user.
To upload a 200 MB file is less than 4 minutes.
My downloads between 1 MB and 4 MB per second.
The difference of speed depends on how busy they are.

Add mine:

http:..img1.asultra.com so I can at least use my own hosting while posting galleries.

I simply don't use the other ones. Why anyone would is beyond me.

Filecloud.com will be added to the permitted list.

Both sites prohibit adult material so not really suitable.

The problem with this is that there are links to other forums on the home page.

I've already posted a file using http://www.filefactory.com/
(a 600 MB Video, more than 30 DL in a bit more than 12 hours)

Are there any known reasons against this service? Could not find this service in the list.

The links on the fist post of this thread now mirrors the posting in the rules thread.

I don't see "filefactory" mentioned anywhere else in the rules forum, or on this thread.

The only place I see it mentioned lately involves warnings for rules infractions.

filefactory pays the uploader. That's why it isn't on the list.

Uploadhouse say they'll delete any adult images which are brought to their attention so they aren't really suitable.

pics-hosting.com seem OK. I'll add it.

Hi!

My suggestion is http://myimg.de

I think it's clean. Need a hoster for bigger previews, hotlinking without thumbs. Not easy to find. Thanxx for checking this.
