It's funny that the only penalty so far was in Spain's match and it shouldn't have been awarded. We've seen definite penalties in a few other games that haven't been awarded.

It's a shame the Ivory Coast are out of the tournament but that's what you get for not taking your chances when they come to you. Arouna Kone and Bonaventure Kalou missed some great chances in their 2 matches. What I found strange about the game against Holland was that Henri Michel took off the goalscorer Bakari Kone who was playing well.

Argentina have been the most impressive team so far and now that Messi is playing for them they will be a hard side to beat. I wouldn't write Brazil off yet because I think we're bound to see some impressive performances from Kaka Robinho and of course Ronaldinho.

I told you an African side would cause an upset. Ghana outplayed the Czech Republic. They could have scored 5 or 6 if it wasn't for their poor finishing. If they beat the USA they will qualify for the 2nd round but Brazil might be their opponents.

The Czechs have been unlucky with their injuries and now that lokvenc is suspended they've got a big problem for their match against Italy. They've got no Baros, no Koller and now no Lokvenc. Rosicky and Nedved will still pose a threat but it's going to be an uphill struggle.

After our performance against Japan I wount be suprised if we did scare Brazil a bit, I dont know if we can beat them. Not with four yellow cards playing. but after watching them struggle against Japan and only winning 1 - 0 I have faith in the Socceroos. but Gus has to play 5 strikers to worry them if he dosent it will be a slow match for Australia

Aussie Aussie Aussie ooo oo oo

@everyone: I apologise for our rudeness but the tactics and strategics we're discussing here so brilliantly must remain top-secret. Therefore we can't talk English. Matter of National Security.

@Piet van der S.: Heb je hun laatste wedstrijd gezien? Als die gasten woensdag ook zo gaan spelen, vergeef me de ongepaste uitdrukking, staan we lekker voor Piet Snot daaro... Very Happy

The U-krainians were unlucky against Spain. So many offside decisions wrongly went against them. If you look at the Spanish goals, there was 1 great goal, 2 lucky goals and a penalty that never should have been awarded. Blokhin's team are doing well against the Saudis and I get the feeling that the Saudis are going to concede several more before the 90 mins. is up.

Tunisia are full of energy and pace and they could cause an upset tonight. Spain have more quality than the Tunisians but Jaziri, Trabelsi and Jaidi are good players and have the ability to turn the game in Tunisia's favour.

I think the Tunisian goalkeeper must have smoked some hashish before the match. He saved a shot but pushed the ball back into Raul's path instead of turning it around the goalpost. For the 2nd goal I don't know where he was going. I think he decided to stretch his legs and enjoy a stroll in the German evening air. The defenders would have caught up with Torres if the keeper hadn't wandered so far off his line. For the 3rd goal he somehow managed to dive over the ball. He got a hand to the ball but he only managed to deflect the ball into the net.

Fernando Torres is a good player but I don't think he's as great as a lot of people say he is. He only scored 13 goals in La Liga last season while Eto'o and Villa scored around 25 and 24 goals. Torres is not as good a goal-scorer as Eto'o or Van nistelrooy, or Henry or Owen. He's a talented player but not a prolific goal-scorer.

Since I live in the US, I'm just glad that I can bring up "football" to people these days and sometimes be asked "Which one?"

More of a fan of EU"football" than US"football" myself.

The USA are playing on Thursday. Freddy Adu could have played for Ghana but he decided to play for the USA. I think he made the wrong decision because Ghana are a better side and Freddy could have been playing at this World Cup. It looks like Italy and Ghana will qualify from that group. I like the Czechs but without their main 3 strikers they're going to need a miracle to beat the Italians.

Argentina have been the best side so far. If Brazil want to retain their hold on the trophy they will have to play a lot better than they have been doing. Ronaldinho needs to play like he does at Barcelona, he's too conservative at the moment. Also Robinho should be in the starting 11.

I can't believe what happened to Owen. Talk about bad luck! First he breaks his foot and now he's got a knee injury. He only joined Newcastle to ensure that he would play regularly and be selected for the World Cup but now he's out of the tournament and won't play until december or january at least.
