Good at going forward and a little suspect in defense seems to apply to a lot of teams so far this year.

Also did you see that Danish clearance off the goalline? Play of the world cup for me so far!

I've missed both the games today due to work...! So annoying working through the tournamont!

On the bright side good to see Kuyt score and Agger score (in the wrong goal! Laughing )

Apparently Ledley King is out of the World Cup according to english media...
I think Carragher lack of pace will be exposed if he plays so for me it has to be Upson or Dawson that starts against Algeria...

I know Capello is a massive fan of Carra so he will most likely start!

Rooney picke dup a slight knock aswell and didnt train today.

Good luck for Italy now. I am sure we will see a great football match against Paraguay. Wink

EDIT:
It seems Italy really needs this luck now. Laughing
Let's see what will happen in second half of the game. Cool

EDIT2:
The match didn't deserve a loser. The draw is ok.
But I think both will be in the round of last sixteen anyway.

It should be an exciting day today with New Zealand making their first ever appearance, a great match between Ivory Coast and Portugal, and plenty of goals in the final match of the day. I predict:

New Zealand 1 Slovakia 2
Ivory Coast 1 Portugal 1
Brazil 6 North Korea 0

I'm not.

Why? North Korea is the underdog. I always support the underdog. On the other hand I'd really like to see the Brazilian team go far in this tournament.

Let's hope the Brazilians don't make "the beloved leader" in North Korea too angry: he's got weapons of mass destruction ... Wink

Supporting Brazil? Ridiculous thought ! No team should be allowed to win the cup more than 5 times.

If you look at this list:

it is pretty clear and obvious for everybody that Germany is the best team in the world ever and so it's only fair that they get the cup this time.
Bad enough that those Italians weren't well schooled in correct behaviour and didn't let the germans win in their own country four years ago Wink

It would be interesting to know whether the North Koreans will be able to watch this match. Normally the North Korean government filter out any news that doesn't show their country in the best light.

A nice story for New Zealand with a last minute equaliser in today's match. Hopefully the other 2 games today will be really exciting.

Right! Typically I also support either my own team or the underdog. But it is very hard to develop any positive feelings for this country/team.

I have read that they will have 1000 supporters in the stadium: rented fans from China. Razz

For me it's very hard to develop any positive feelings for their leader. The players have my sympathy.

1000 rented supporters from China! Why not? Wink
