Please explain to me why girls get tattoos

The current tattoo/piercing trend is ironic because by so many are 'rebelling' by doing exactly what everyone else is doing.

Do I like tattoos? Well, sometimes they don't spoil a girl, but sometimes they do. Do they ever enhance? Not yet in my experience. Of course, your mileage may vary.

i for once don't like them. You see people getting stupid meaningless tattoes like an eagle or a wolf, That is not ven original or rebellious. SOme even pick the ones they like from a Mural full of samples.
I respect a person who tattos something that is truly meaningful, but stupid ass people who think is rebellious deserve all the prejuidice that comes with a tattoo.
Then they wonder why employers stare at them in a strange way and they cant get any other jobs than flipping burgers

What happens when tattoos go out of fashion? Some chick will turn 40 with a barb wire tattoo on her arm and be embarrassed she got it. Or shell out a lot of dough to get it removed.

I dont know why they get them, but I sure dont mind a few tattoos on a hot girl Very Happy However, some girls definately do go overboard....

It is mutilation, especially when a pretty girl gets a lot of ink on her body. I just move onto another girl and ignore the graffiti girl, even if she is pretty hot otherwise. It's like implants. There are women that are really hot, but have bad boob jobs, which revolt me.

Absolutely bang on.

It can be a "transitional" thing (leaving school, or closure on a time in ones life), but once the first piece of ink goes in then that is it, they WILL always go back for more. It is very addictive, whether it be the tattoo itself or the process of having it done, even better if it is a combination of both.

Personally I love a girl that has tatts, it means she has the confidence to express herselfand that she is "comfortable" in her body and wishes to express herself this way.

In the "age" arguement, if you have to worry about what you look like when you are 70, then that is just sad, what you should be celebrating is that you are still alive and enjoy life to maximum.

I don't think girls get tattoos to "express themselves", I think most girls get them because they think they look cool and their other girl friends have them too. Some guys love tats on women, but personally I can't stand them. 99% of the time, the tattoos mean absolutely nothing to the girl that got that. If it means something, like a girl I knew got tattoos with her siblings. A little tattoo on the ankle meaning "little sister". I'm fine with that, but some chick with a tramp stamp on... I don't much care for.

Some do it as rebellion against theyr parents or the bigotry society

Many do this "brand" for theyr wannabe pimp boyfriends

There`s much reasons for them to do this, i don`t like it if its to big or to much, an absolutely taboo for me is an tatoo at pussy

My parents from generation they thought only seaman, criminal and whores are tatooed

Small tasteful tattoo's are great.. I don't like ones all down the arm though.

My girl has one on her lower back, as well as her back right shoulder. They're small and don't take over her entire body. I think, when the right tattoo is used, they could be a signal of sensuality.

Also, some girls are just plain hot, so whether or not they have tattoos, they're hot, IMHO.

I want to get a tattoo to commemorate my father. I dont have any yet.

Too much ink and the girl becomes unappealing to me. Like those SuicideGrls... Some are pretty cute, but they have way too much ink and metal sticking in them.

I used to really hate tattoos and still do(mostly) for the reason that they are usually meaningless, especially to me. In tribal culture, tattoos actually said and meant something to the person who saw it whether that person was in the same tribe or a neighboring one. In other words that culture had rules about getting tattoos, where as today tattoos are just a fashion statement or shit like that.

Idea Then i realized that if i saw a hot chick with a cool tattoo i could still get off without getting a tattoo myself! Wink

I'm a fan of tattoos in general but, like in all things, it's all down to personal preferences.

and I've seen some that have gone way too overboard with bad tats, then others that have even more but still look good because they work.

As opposed to men? i think you think about women too much as objects. People get tattoos to express themselves. Thats whats distinguishes women from objects, they have lives, feelings, ideas.
