Maybe it's just me, but I can't watch any of the images hosted by Imagevenue right now! Anyone else with the same problem?

edit: It works fine again - no need to reply.

... Often when I'm uploading images Imagebam aborts the operation, showing the images "cut-in-half" or not at all. It's not that funny if you have 10-15 images to upload and have to redo the procedure several times before you get it to work.
I've also experienced problems accessing the upload-page beacuse the servers are down.
...

I sometimes have the same problems, but as far as i figured out, the display of the previews after the upload does not infect the "real" thumb. If you click on it, the preview is full size and ok and the link works too, so it just seems to be a cosmetic problem with the upload-page.
Most of the pichosts have their "time window" when it takes a lot of time to upload.

I guess you're right, but just to show you what i meant I uploaded a picture where the thumbnail shows up "cut-in-half". There's no problem with the full size picture though.

(I hope this works now! I previewed the page 20 times before hitting "submit", but one time the thumbnail actually appeared as it should! Shocked )

If you're using imagbam you should choose the scaled thumbnails (cropped will cut it), see pics and attachments.

I do use scaled thumbnails like you describe, but when i uploaded the picture it was shown "cut-in-half" anyway - I promise!

Anyway, it shows perfectly well now and I guess it's just matter of time before it does - Loui375 was right!

Imagevenue is getting worse, now there is a 5 second waiting time before popups Twisted Evil

Even worse is Messyshare. Every time I click a pic of that host it completely freezes my browser. As far as I'm concerned it should be on the banned host list.

Like most of you I dislike imagevenue nowadays. What helps is closing the tab when you get the 4 sec waiting and then open the page again, it loads straight away without the waiting. And besides that don’t clcik the pic to enlarge it. This way there are no annoying popups.

Sometimes I'm not allowed to close the tab if I'm not fast enough.
Then I will get a popup.
If I manage to close the tab/window and clicks the imagethumb again, it opens without popups/unders but when I close that tab/window I'm still getting an exit popunder when using IE7.

imagehaven.net was suggested as an alternative. I have uploaded two sample pics.

Tiny pic without a thumb. Uploaded as SFW.

Larger pic with thumb. Uploaded as NSFW.

It seem safe, so have a click and see what you think about it.

Images deleted ... Confused

The term 'NSFW' may not be the same at Imagehaven than the meaning at Imagevenue. In fact, it looks like Imagehaven owners just only allow soft nudity images, not very explicit Shocked .

At least that's my interpretation from their 'TOS' ...

Maybe your images were too explicit for their narrow minds ... Laughing Laughing

Could you re-up them at Imagevenue ... just for determining how deep was your crime?? Wink

Using FireFox, I use the keyboard shortcut ctrl+w to quickly close the tab and then hit left click again real fast as my pointer is still on the thumbnail.
Never have any pop-ups this way and I'm super quick with my thumb and middle finger. I also don't click the image once loaded to avoid the pop-up.
With this technique, I have no problems with Imagevenue whatsoever. Very Happy

Same thing to me, firefox is dead for over ten seconds and sometimes is stays dead, maybe a problem with the newest sun-java-machine?
I'm not clicking on messyshare-previews anymore ...
And yes, i think it's time to ban imagevenue. I saw another forum who banned it from next year on.

It's not uncommon. These sites attract business by offering a free, reliable and spam-free service. But who're we kidding - there's no such thing as a free lunch. Once they have enough content uploaded to their server the business model always changes.

I agree time to ban their ass!

Sorry, but I don't have your problems with Imagevenue.
The 5 sec delay is only the first time I open a pic from IV. And even this can be prevented by opening the same pic in a new tab and closing the first tab.
Moreover I never had a problem with pop-ups at IV. I didn't even know about this. You should use firefox with suited add-ons (pop-up blocker like Adblock Plus, Flashblock, Java Script Options, NoScript) and you will never see any pop-ups from IV or others. So I see nor reason to ban IV.
Just my 2 cents.

If there's any problem, and I agree that it's a pain in the ass, what is the advantage to Imagevenue that makes up for the downside when this works so well?
