Looks like there are some "real" improvements at RS:
Max. Upload size is now 500Mb

And has anybody already used the new RS Manager 2 ?

I've been using it since the first public beta (version 2.04) and had no problems with it. Just very annoying that the released version is still kind of public beta - needing updates every few hours.

According to developer it needs Java 1.6 -> http://www.java.com/en/download/

I don't know the exact limit, but there is no warning when uploading files larger than 500 MB, these files can't be downloaded for free.

try jdownloader. It's free and it handles each and every host out there. It never dissapointed me.
A download-tool (in Java) as replacement for an account- and file-management-, download- and upload-tool (in Java), because there is a problem with java? sounds really stupid to me.

@userL301 - thanks

I'm on Java Version 6 Update 21 (build 1.6.0_21-b06) - I think that's the latest. Maybe it was a Java cache issue - I think that was the issue I had with a java app from Secunia that had similar behaviour, I eventually trashed it because of too many updates - its probably still in beta.

Things worked a lot better when most things were written C & Win32 - too many script kiddies writing apps these days, and too much reliance on end-users to do the testing - I blame Google for that.

I only took a look because it was Loui who asked, had it been anyone other than Loui or yourself, I probably wouldn't have bothered Wink

I'm not interested in RSM 2, most of my files are dying and I'm not intending to renew RS once they've consumed my crapids.

Thanks for testing, w-e and userL301, i couldn't get it working here on this Win2k system, that's why i asked.
The old RSM is still doing his job (for now), but i was curious since i heard some complaints from guys that couldn't use the RSUploader or ****m to get their files uploaded in their RS accounts.

Now you can change a "Status" of your uploaded files. There are 3 different options: normal, TrafficShare and Secure TrafficShare. So what the hell does it mean when I change the status of some file from normal to TrafficShare?

It's not new Wink

TrafficShare means that you pay the traffic and te downloader can download like he'd have a prem-acc.

That means a 100MB files will reduce your available download-traffic by 100MB every time the file is downloaded.

secureTS enables some more features in dynamically creating a special link only for a specific downloader.

Seems like Rapidshare has won an important lawsuit against the entertainment industry:

If I by a RapidPro I have 30GB Traffic for 30 days. I am a bit confused by this 30 days because RapidShare says you cant loose your Traffic anymore. So what happens after 30 days with your traffic if you still have some?

The remaining traffic is not lost, but can only be used with an active account.

If you have 20 GB traffic left and let the account expire, then at the next renewal you'll have 50GB. (30 new GB + 20 unused old GB)

I've tested it, it works Wink

Just to add: But as long as you have no RapidPro, you can't use traffic, so it won't help to buy traffic, but not to extend your account.

Hello - I didn't see this thread here so I made my own little rage thread.
I am very unsatisfied with the new system.
I am **** to buy traffic no matter how long my account is valid. Because 30 gig traffic for 30 days is a joke. I can not believe that they really did hat.

And did you notice the new automatic setting that you will buy new traffic instantly if you reached your limit?

I can't believe that shit. I am running my rs.manager for the brutally large HD files to download and I am currently downloading about 10 gigs per day.

Now WHY the hell do I need a premium account anyway? Sorry, I am fully of anger today.
