It appears that rapidcrap have now removed their daily status bar.... so you can not actually see how much traffic you have used, to stay within the limits of your quota. If you do not, then they will automatically bill you more Crapids for excessing the quota.

Also with the new billing, it seems they now charge per month: 99 Crapids per month instead of 4 Crapids per day. Sounds good.. but with only 30 Crapids left, I wonder how they will bill the next month... by day or by month?

This time there was NO news bulletin to announce their new change.

I would not go as far as saying you are blind, but we are obviously not viewing the page in the same way Smile. This is what my page looks like:

Maybe if you (or anyone else) will compare this with what you are viewing, you can tell me what I am missing, or how to find it? Smile

Edit:
Neither the File Manager nor the Linklist open for me. After 30 minutes of trying, the request times out. I can no longer get the links to the files I uploaded

What andylo referred to is what you will see if you click on the news link you have in red on your images mike=)).

When I open the Filemanager I get a popup about a script running that cold stop the pc from working.
It has a question if I like to stop it from running.
My reply is No. Then in just a few seconds the list opens.
If I say Yes it goes into an indefinate loop.
I'm using WinXP and IE7.

Hi GS.

I have removed rapídshare from the word censor.
It's the wrong way of introducing a change.
Especially since Rapid is, and has been, the major fileservice utilised in the forum for a long time.
As long as members and moderators are seeing the allowed hostlist in the Rules section, those hosters has to be allowed and not being censored out.

Any change to the list, in terms of removing hosts, is to make an Announcement in which a set date for the change is stipulated.
The transition period has to be long, not just one week.
Information should first be conveyed to the moderators and then to the members.

I intend to agree with what many members have expressed in various threads.
The way things are done will kill the forum.
At least many of the current big contributors will just stop posting.

The way changes are done also creates confusion and frustration amongst the moderators who doesn't know which leg to stand on.

I have actually started to seriously consider if I want to stay part of this.

Looks like there are some "real" improvements at RS:
Max. Upload size is now 500Mb

screenshot

Haven't tried it via browser, but i managed to remote upload a file of 280Mb, and it is also downloadable by free users.

And has anybody already used the new RS Manager 2 ?

Hi Louis

I tried to have a look at RSM 2 - but it wedged (jammed), killed it with Process Explorer, its a java app. I trashed it with Revo Uninstaller - like most java apps it left its crap in the registry, Revo fixed that.

No point asking RS about the problem, they'd tell me to clear the browsers cache - and I'd get angry.

try it, it may work for you - I'll stick to the browser interface.

When my crapids are gone I'll probably let RS account lapse - I don't post it and I don't download much from it - maybe they'll do an exabit and let you buy a book of download tickets - I like that system.

Good that they increased file size - but why not 2G like most of the competition - then most downloads would be one clickers.

I just ****med a 297MB file up to RS, no problems, except it was more like a splutter.

Uploading to RS is sooooo slow compared to uploads to HF, ORON is also slow, I think ****m uses HTTP for RS and ORON, whereas it uses FTP for Hotfile. I've played around with buffer size, I only ever up 1 file at a time. I put a sniffer on it once, a 50MB upload to RS shovelled over 80MB onto the wire, same 50MB upload to HF shovelled about 52MB onto the wire. Same computer, firewall, antvir, router, ADSL link etc.
