What ws777 said. Axe those who have been inactive, non-VIP, for six months, limit "guests" to General Chat, and cut the non-posters out of the Pic and Video sections. If the leech and lurker traffic make it difficult to get in, I guess the contributors will just have to contribute a bit less.

Popularity of the board has come, leechers have always been here and have been the cause of many discussions.,, so maybe it is a server overload, only the guru owners would know..
(well the spell check errored out on me now so forgive my mistakes,, Smile )

It seems that what ever is done will cost GS some money to accomplish your goals.

This is the best board I have run across,, eliminating some sections would free up the loads.

NN Babes Fanclub, Paysite Reviews, Fresh Ideas for Funs Studio Sites, Sex Stories, HardCore&Pornstars, Adult DVD Disscussing, WallPapers, Celebities are at the top of my list....

these catagories could be eliminated in order to free up space and loads..

would be cheap for GS to do also... Smile

Aso maybe a inside password to get to the most popular area's issused by GS to those deserving access, I think that would be easy to do..??

tough decission..

And Celebrities ... its nice to see a favorite Star in Hot Action! Smile
Paysite ... hmm ... maybe helpfull to avoid that others a Scammed!

A well, Second is right about many phpBB fora with ten times as many members that are up and running, it likely isn't the software (it's open-source so there might be several versions and adaptations around).
Also: XP is running a bit smoother on my Athlon64 3200+, 1 GB, than on my GF's Pentium 3 @650 MHz with 384 MB. And sometimes a bit defragmentation and de-bugging improves a digital system, especially after a period on intensive use...

I can't see what the problem is, might be hardware limitation, might be an attact... Hope it will get attention from Mr. GS. Very Happy

Sad Join the club, JonnyB! (Oh sorry, didn't read it, but you are already a VIP-club member I see)

Things get better if you disable the "spell check" option, which can be done in your profile.

Good posting!

(and thanks for the -no doubt- great postings again!)

Very Happy No problem, I'll translate:

On my Carl Seagan (Apple PPC 604 @ 75 MHz, 92 MB) OS 8.4 is running less smooth than on my neighbors G5 (1.8 GHz, 2 GB intern).
Even worse: I can't get my other screenshot Apple to run OSX!

Maybe it comes down to content

Other forums dont have the upload capability that we do, most forums have to post to image sites and then link with either thunbnails or link lines.
which means that by us uploading pictures we could be clogging the forum a bit, jus a thought, I would hate to see our images posted from image hosting sites. I think that our ability to upload starighht to the forum is just one of many reasons that the forum is so hugely successful.

Ah well, Sir_Darkstar is right I guess, it's the superb concept of this forum that makes it very successfull but causes the high server load as well.
