what happen when someone report about a copyright infringement

Do they just block the link and remove the file in 7 days

or

is there some kind of a counter of warnings which they increase when we caught and delete our account someday one it goes max?

hope you wil able to answer it easily, as lot of links get reported daily in here

I really have no idea how it works. I once reported one of my own uploads as a test and they replied asking for proof that I was the copyright owner. I never replied and the links remained active.

You can just report them as porn. It's against their TOS

It's pretty simple to report links to rs.

Have done it with some spam links, which contains only previews and ads to pr0n sites.

Just tell rs the files contain pr0n and they are deleted in no time.

The will just remove it in most cases when it comes to copyrights. However the will report you to the police if the files contain animal cruelty or the likes of CP and so on. The was a case afew years ago on a gore site were someone uploaded a file of himself torturing a cat and then killing it, and Rapidshare reported him to the police and it made head line news.

Cant find the link to the story. It was years ago when rapidshare first came about when the was only rapidshare.de, It was some german or belgiun man (well non english) that killed the cat on camera. I remember it was on a non english news channel when i seen the clip of him getting arrested on the net. It may of been megaupload but the are all the same when it comes to what you can and cant upload.

Here is something for users of Rapidhare to worry about.

Maybe not right away, but soon.

seems they kill anything that gets reported by someone.
some pages of "sweet AIMEE SWEET" have been wasted...even the previews by ImageVenue...
but, funny...RS also deleted my unique Bardot-post...no copyright-problem, scans of my own!
guess there is an organized pressure from SUZE and others...against forums and file-hosts!

stay hard!

Almost no-one reports peoples posts. Rapidshare monitor how many times a file has been downloaded, and if a file has a porn name or has been downloaded hundreds of times its obviously illegal content.. so they delete it, cos it makes it look to the authorities that they are against illegal file sharing and are doing something about it. Saying someone has reported it is just a clever way of taking the blame away from them... Surely most of you have worked that out by now?!!!! File sharing is illegal so we cant really complain. I've had loads of links deleted but its all part of the fun i think.
