I'm gonna close this out since its been a while and maybe more people would participate if SD does one his great (and less strange) sets again.
In case it isn't obvious, every song has the word "ramble" or "rambling" in the title or lyrics. Yes, I may in fact be that quite egotistical. Nahhh.
Townboy wrote:Damn... this is the only one I got. It's Phish "The Mango Song" from A Picture of Nectar.
Townboy, AWESOME! That was one of the hardest ones.
Kudos to SD for the ones he got ... and the ones he didn't enter. Especially the Tom Cochrane, that was a toughie. The POTUS was the other real toughie IMRO. #8 is forgiven, since Diana Ross might have done a cover.
1. Grateful Dead -- Ramble On Rose
2. Bob Dylan -- You Wanna Ramble
3. Steve Earle -- Steve's Last Ramble
4. CCR -- Ramble Tamble
5. Silverchair -- Ramble
6. Phish -- The Mango Song
7. Presidents of the United States of America -- Mobile Home
8. Corner of the Sky -- from the show Pippin
9. Louis Armstrong -- Oh Didn't He Ramble
10. Tom Cochrane -- Talkin' to Myself
Honorable Mention:
Led Zeppelin -- Ramble On (too easy)
Allman Bros. -- Ramblin' Man (in my sig)
Bob Seger -- Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (too easy)
Steve Martin -- Ramblin' Man (yes, the comedian/actor)
Blues Traveler -- Mind to Ramble
Dropkick Murphy -- Ramble and Roll
"Cause I was born to ramble I was made to roll..."
Mighty Mighty Bosstones -- Let Me Be
"Let me rant and let me ramble..."
Duke Ellington -- Blue Ramble
Dr. John -- Didn't He Ramble (would have been just another gimme for SD)
And last -- although there are probaby several dozen more I could list --but certainly not least, the late, great, Mississippi Delta bluesman with his own uniquely strange style, ladies and gentlemen ... Mr. Nehemiah Curtis James, forever known as "Skip". Strange world we live in -- listening to songs on CD that were first recorded back in the 1920s.
Skip James – Cherry Ball Blues
"I'll catch the Southern if you take the Santa Fe
I'll take the Southern and if you'll take the Santa Fe
I'm gonna ride and ramble, tell cherry to come back to me."
