Re #7, The Desert Rose Band had a song called "Come a Little Closer" but this isn't it.
I bought the album just because of the guitar work on this song. Chris Hillman (Byrds & Flying Burrito Brothers) formed the band and while they were called country, their rock roots still showed.

I'm still celebrating my Philly boyz winning the Baseball championship (I'm not naming it normally because there's always some non-yank who pisses and moans about the designation, blah blah blah). Woohoo!


But this thread is all about the MUSIC, amigos. So the theme here is that all of these bands are from Philadelphia. And -- since the Phillies are a true *team* with no overpaid whiny superstars and won the Championship by playing together, all of these are Groups or Bands or at least Duos ... no solo artists allowed.


Musically speaking, Phila is known mostly for R&B, Hip Hop, Soul, and only a bit of "Rock". So this mix reflects a wide range of genres ... ya got R&B, ya got Hippity Hop, ya got punk, ya got rock, ya got Motown, ya got Disco, etc etc. Most acts should be known internationally, but there could be some exceptions, sorry. Some of these are easy, and some ... are not. Good luck. And watch out for covers, I want original artists from Philly.
