Hi,

I'm having a problem with rapidshare. If I try and download a 2 part video on rapidshare, the first part downloads fine. When I try and download the second part, I keep getting this message.
Error-
You want to download the following file:

dead link | 19178 KB

Your IP address is already downloading a file. Please wait until the download is completed.

Premium members can download any number of files simultaneously. Become a Premium member now. The download will be available shortly.
Create Premium Account

I have tried using a differnt browser, but keep getting the same message. I have also tried waiting a few days to try and download the file again.

Any suggestion? pls help

Are you using a proxy (anonymizing or other) for your browser? If so this is what you will usually encounter, since the same IP is being used by many people.

If you are on a unique IP, then waiting a while should have solved the problem, even with the occasional error from the RS end. If all else fails I would delete all cookies and temp files, reset your internet connection (unplug modem for 10 seconds) and then reboot.

I just started getting this same error today. I am NOT using a proxy. I thought maybe my cable modem DHCP's IP lease was up and I got some IP someone else was using or something but that doesn't seem to make any sense. Any other guesses?

BTW, can people give me feedback on rapidshare membership? It looks like all the options are NON-REOCCURRING. Is this correct? Also, any issues with the pricing in euros (I'm a yank)? No mysterious double billing of your credit card or anything?

Hi.

Don't know anything about this error.

But premium membership works fine on my side.
Non-recurring, it simply expires.
Pricing in Euros is fine for me, I'm German Smile
Don't know what rs premium costs in US $.
I paid with paypal, worked fine for me, but I've heard of some people who can't use paypal for unknown reason.

And I've paid only twice. The rest is for free (rs points). And it seems I've to pay no more, my account is self-preserving now (10,000+ points a month).

I recently "renewed" my account for another 30 days by converting 10000 rapid points. It has not extended the expiration date previously shown before the conversion. Do you know if it will automatically start another 30 day count down at the end of my paid period or do I need to contact RS reps?

Now it's 2 weeks since my rs went grazy..
So damm slow and nobody here can find
a reason on my pc.
RS say, that they will respons quick on
my mails (5 now), but NOT once, they
had answared..Something is completly
wrong (in the rotten state of denmark)..

It takes almost an hour to upload 100MB
and 45 min to download the same... Evil or Very Mad

Or broadband connection has just opgraded
our speed..first from almost nothing to 4/1 Mbit/s
A week later to 7/1 Mbit an know (2 weeks later again)
it is 21/21 Mbit..think thats the name..They say that
it can't "hurt" your connection, but i trust more in
people in here..Is that correct ??? or is it RS
who is going down the drain.. Rolling Eyes

Anyway...if it isn't working soon, i take my
XMAS break...

So enjoy a happy Xmas, anyone..

see u all later.. Cool

Hmh, it should extend the expiration date immediately.

No idea, I think you should ask rs customer service.

Strange. I did the same recently, I converted points while I still had 2 weeks left of the 'old' membership. The new expiration, after conversion, date was directly set 6 weeks later. How long ago did you do the conversion? Did the points reduce by 10000 after conversion? Maybe it takes time to show the new expiration date?

I did the conversion 2 days ago and my points did indeed subtract 10000 points. I emailed RS this morning and am waiting for a reply...

I had that "you are already downloading a file" bullshit yesterday. I sent them an email, but never did get a reply. I've been going to do a reformat on this thing anyway and had been saving things to my external hard drives for a few days, so I went ahead and finished saving stuff and did the reformat last night and today I'm not having any problems.

I just got this from rapidshare. It should explain a few things.

Hello,

Our system checks your IP-address in order to count the downloads. If you are
getting an error message that you are already downloading while no downloads
where made, then your IP is being created by a proxy-server. Proxy servers are

placed by ISP's or network administrators to save IP addresses. This can lead
to multiple downloads from one IP.

Only Premium Accounts can make multiple parallel downloads from one IP at the
same time.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience you have with our service.

Best regards,

Support Team

Okay, so they emailed me back a few days ago.

I was not looking at the expiration date, only the red text where it says "you have xx days remaining." It still does not show the correct days remaining (it did not add 30 days) but the expiration date does show an extra 30 days on my account. So, it may have said it there right after I converted but now I'll never know! See the pic to see what I mean.

Hi Fonzz.

That explains everything.

That x days left, means only that you get 10 GB dl capacity/day. That's the old condition of RS, they've changed the rules.

See the news of rs (old condition: 10 GB/day, cumulative to max. 50 GB if not used; new condition 10 GB/day, non-cumulative, max. 80 GB/month!!).

And no, they won't extend your premium to the old conditions, regardless if paid or point-based (tried both).
