Well, I put this

Dude helps a new lawman and does some animation.

up at the same time Billy was posting one and mine made him think of another and that made him think of another and that...aw shit, I'm lost too?!?
Actually his first 2 aren't ringing any bells but that last one is right on the tip of my my index finger (I'm a piss poor typist).
Mine is very easy, if you've seen anything you've surely seen both of these.[/b]

OK, Sugarman is right. Too much confusion, so I will clear my intellectual diarrhea off the board right now.

Gets grazed by buckshot and then impales himself on a sharp stick.
Bart the Bear in The Great Outdoors and The Edge. Bit of a cheat on my part. Razz

Dude helps a lawman and falls in love with the queen's daughter.
When I read your clue, what immediately popped into my head was "I'm your huckleberry," so with
Val Kilmer in mind, I went with Tombstone and Willow.

Neighbor frames a dude, who then captains an extinct bird.
The other thing the "dude" made me think of was The Big Lebowski, so with
Jeff Bridges in mind, I went with Arlington Road and White Squall (the boat was the Albatross)

Phew. So everything is now cleared off the board except tzman's last one that inspired two of the three above:

Dude helps a new lawman and does some animation.

Both parts give me several ideas, but none that seem to overlap. Confused

I don't feel so bad. There wasn't a pair there that I'd seen both of. For the bird one, I was trying to think of something with a dodo or an auk or even a passenger pigeon.
One last clue on mine. They are both CLASSIC comedies; like 6 on a scale of 5. Very Happy Laughing

Gene Wilder in Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein?

I originally suspected that "animation" was deliberately misleading, but I was thinking more serious films than comedies. And I was a little handicapped in that I have never actually seen Blazing Saddles. Embarassed

If I was right, here's a new one from me:

Surfer baddie chases surprise relative and then does a little animation.

I like playing this like dominos, where one of my two clues matches one of the previous two. Smile

You are correct sir! Whew! Very Happy

Yeah, I like that twist; I'll have to try it...if I can figure this'n out.

Well it will have to be an occasional twist. Because if you can come up with another actor/movie for "Surfer baddie chases surprise relative," then my hat is definitely off to you, sir. Laughing

(Hmmm...could you call Bodhi and Johnny Utah 'related' through Tyler??)

I guess you get to keep your hat on, the only way I got the FIRST one was that silver platter "hint" of yours. Not having seen a pic does tend to be a handicap. I think it was Patrick Swayze The only thing that seems to fit the second part is Ghost, unless it's Keanu Reeves in that movie The Animatrix.

Surfer baddie chases surprise relative (and by that I mean Taciturn squinter) puts up with an incontinent Pongo.

Laughing I feel like a spy, where every posted word is analyzed backwards, forwards, and with a secret decoder ring. Actually, that last bit was not a clue, simply my after-the-fact speculation on what a second possible movie that first clue might apply to. Don't worry - I'm not going that far off the reservation with the clue stretching.

The answer to:

Surfer baddie chases surprise relative and then does a little animation.

is Jason Lee in Dogma and Chasing Amy. Although I admit I was walking the border of the reservation by mixing actor and character in the clue (Jason Lee was a surfer before getting into the movie business), but if I had just called him a Devil that would have been way too easy. And the surprise relative was the Last Scion, not his relative. So a bit unfair, I admit. And I probably should have said "coloring" instead of animation for the second clue, but I didn't want to piss him off. Smile

Now that I will have to think about... The only squinter I can think of is Eastwood, and if by Pongo you mean orangutan, I have no flipping clue since I can't think of any movies I have ever seen with an orang (a Matt LeBlanc vehicle perhaps?). And I'm pretty sure they haven't gone that far with the straight to video sequels of 101 Dalmations... Laughing

Aw hell, I thought the first part had to be Point Break from what I remembered about it.
I suppose my "animation" should actually have been REanimation too but there has to be a little leeway.
As to your speculation on the most recent one, once again you're close, but there's no Friends tie in.

Well I'll be jiggered. Your last post made me look up Eastwood, and lo an behold he did make not one but two movies with an incontinent orang! So a partial answer would be:

Clint Eastwood in ________ and Every Which Way But Loose/Any Which Way You Can. Unfortunately, I don't know Eastwood enough to solve the first half. Sad I think I have seen Unforgiven and Space Cowboys and that's it. I was never too big of a big Western fan. I watched The Shootist because it was the Duke's last role (and who doesn't like Jimmy Stewart?), but other than that and Unforgiven, the only other Western I can remember seeing was The Three Amigos. ANY of his westerns would be good enough. I was thinking about his spaghetti westerns, but they all fit.
The orang's name was Clyde and he shat all over the place, even on the seat of a cop car. Laughing
Can I domino off my own? I'll make it easy, just in case.

Elderly car thief cusses incontinent Pongo.

Ruth Gordon as Ma Boggs and Maude.

I spent two days racking my brain as to how Bodhi ended up chasing Utah and not the other way round! So tzman and billyellis you are both disqualified!! Yes, yes I know there are no rules but I'm pulling rank and here's why.

a) You can't give a clue about the actor - the title of the thread specifically says says "roles"
b) Perhaps Clint Eastwood is able to surf but he's certainly not known for it.
c) He was "The Good" in the Spaghetti Westerns (Angel Eyes was "The Bad")
c) He wasn't related to anyone.......Surprised??
and finally...
d) Jason Lee was a skateboarder, not a surfer.

Doh!

Do we have to sit in the corner? Crying or Very sad

Hey, it's about your turn. It seems like there's a sizable gap between Billy's movies and mine; we need someone to bridge the gap.
