There is a sticky about Rapidshare phishing at the top of the video forum.
I bumped into some phishing threads in another forum. It sucked too, because I really wanted to see the video.
It gives you an error message When you chose "premium" at download and sends you to a login at the bottom.
Never log in at the bottom of the page.
This Image gives you an example of the Phishing "fake" Rapidshare link.
If you see a "fake" link in the forum, report it so that it gets deleted from the forum.
If you get phished, login in the right place and change your password, if you still can.
The following came out of another forum.
Quote: someone found my account password on rapidshare and changed my pass, my username and my email
in 2 days i got my account back, very simple:
send an email to support@rapidshare.com asking to send you a new password and providing them the following info:
Name: ...the name of the paypal account owner
E-Mail: ...email of the paypal account
Login-ID: ...get it from payment details on paypal account
Transaction-ID: ... get it from payment details on paypal account
Receipt-ID: ...get it from payment details on paypal account
as you can see, the rs account is related to the paypal account, so be sure nobody is phishing your paypal account
Quote: If you can get the url to the fake RS page turn it in here
http://www.cybersnitch.net/cybersnitch.htm and it will be given to the FBI that way.
If you are on a page that you suspect is a fake phishing page, right click anywhere on the page go to 'View Page Source'. This will open a separate window containing the pages code, written here (general but not always) at the top is the sites address. If it is not normal rapidshare download page, it is a phishing page.
