5. WKRP in Cincinnati. C'mon now, you watched this, you know you watched this, if, for nothing else, Loni Anderson's lovely huge breastesses. But remember Dr. Johnny Fever? Cool Laughing

Doesn't ring a bell. I liked Fawlty towers. They only made 12 episodes Sad M.A.S.H. was okay, althouhg I really disliked that Radar character.

Not surprised that WKRP didn't make it across the pond. But trust me when I say that most bloody Yanks over the age of 35 know what I'm talkin' about. Very Happy It was on originally from 1978 - 1981, and then syndicated throughout the 80s. Les Nessman, Venus Flytrap, Andy Travis, the whole gang. Brilliant for at least the first 3 years, then it ran its course. Probably one of those shows that is highly "dated" though ... I mean, if I went back to watch it now I bet it wouldn't be nearly as funny. By contrast, Seinfeld will likely be funny for decades to come IMRO.

Chicken-man, I think maybe you're too young for M.A.S.H. Sure its still on various channels and syndicated. But for any Americans growing up in the '70s who were old enough to get all the gags, it was ... an integral part of life. As sad as that sounds! Embarassed But again, most of the humor is timeless.

Actually, I mostly grew up on cartoons -- Bugs Bunny, RoadRunner & Wile E. Coyote, Tom & Jerry, Daffy Duck, etc etc. Then I hit puberty. Exclamation WHAM! And discovered shows like The Love Boat (Julie, mmmm), Fantasy Island (Tattoo, mmmm Twisted Evil ), WKRP in Cincinnati (a 12-yr-old drooling over Loni Anderson's bodacious ta-ta's), and most importantly ... BENNY HILL!!!!! Laughing Laughing

(now you know at least part of the reason why I'm as ferked up as I am)

I do remember M.A.S.H. well, I have all episodes. The chicken collects tv series and movies. I recently downloaded that Family ties season 2, for instance. I have all Seinfeld eps, some All in the family, Married with chiildren, On the buses, The good life ( broadcasted as Good Neighbors in the U.S.), You Rang, M'Lord, Murphy Brown Embarassed , Allo Allo, Fawlty Towers, I Dream of Jeannie Embarassed , Keeping Up Appearances, Police Squad, The Simpsons and The New Statesman on my computer and many more backed-up. I prefer downloading them to watching it on tv. That way I can watch what I want, when I feel like it. I recently watched Police squad, had seen them before on tv. Better then the "The naked gun" movies, almost the same, but the movies were almost like watching reruns of Police squad.

Ahhh, I liked WKRP, too, RM! But not for Loni, but the other chick - she had better titties, and the long brown hair, and the teachers glasses that you know when she took off, and shook out her hair...<sigh>!

Julie on the Love Boat - Lauren tewes with her ever excited nip-p-p-ples! She asked for more money and they gave her the boot, and we haven't heard from her since.

I use to like Three's Company, Cosby Show (mmmm, Lisa Bonet!), Benny Hill was like legalized pron for teens!, Dallas (for Victoria's Principal's - damn, if she wasn't always getting outta the pool all wet!). M.A.S.H. was cool. Dan Tana...Da Duke's Of Hazzard...my brother always made us watch the A Team - he still plays the damn bass line to the theme song at every band practice! Evil or Very Mad Later on, it was Married With ****ren, and then that 70's Show... But I don't watch any tv series' anymore - all Discovery Channel, and History channel...Animal Planet. The UFC on Spike...

Spending too much time on the net, actually! Razz Laughing

Many of the showes that have been mentioned here are good ones.
Although there have been mentioning of not sitcoms, but soaps.
I have this far listed without ranking four of my five top sitcoms.
My all time top favorite, the #1, must be Absolute Fabulous.
Patsy and Edvina, what a pair.

Well, the A-team is almost like a sitcom. The acting skills of Mr. T. is always good for a laugh Laughing screenshot

I wont bother you with dutch sitcoms.. But what about Two and a Half Men? Charlie Sheen has a lot of charme and fine humor.

I don't watch sitcoms or the drama series anymore. I tend to watch the Food Network, Sports, News, and the History Channel, or Military, or Science. The only exceptions are Heroes and South Park.

If you count South Park as a sitcom, that'd be it.

Gotta go back to the early 80s but I really liked the young ones.

I've seen and enjoyed to some degree (some more than others) just about every show mentioned so far in this thread. I don't think it's considered a "sitcom" but my favorite show, which is definitely funny, is Entourage. There is a smorgasbord of hot women on there too.
