Leeching Lurkers & Slow Site Problems

Search function leaves a lot to be desired. For example, put in a name. Several post appear. Most of which never contain the persons name. Select one to see if you can find the person you are interested in. No luck. Go back to try another. They are all gone and you have to start all over again. I rarely use it anymore.

I don't fully agree with you Palmer.

The thing is you gotta know what your doing, AND be lucky that no one is using the searched name in their signature the search engine shows those in the results too.

The best way to search is, in my humble opinion,

"search for all terms" +
"Display results as : Posts" +
"Return first 1000 characters of posts"

In this fashion you can "CTRL+F" the results and in most cases eliminate the "name in signature" posts
