Well, to some extent I am proud of you people, I heard things voiced what I feel in a different way, and that is nice, some of it was perhaps borrowed from elsewhere, and then there fore that was not your meaning in life, it was someone else's which sounded good, so you ascribe to it yourself. The meaning in life is to place upon it your own meaning, for though, there is a general enlightenment, some people have their own a-ha experiences, related to the removal of their own personal demons. But beyond all that philosophical stuff, if we aren't going to be the ones making the permanent waves to ensure the future (which gives life high meaning) then the experience should be enjoyed, to make sure all the pile upon the scrap heap wasn't really the waste that it is. Lived and learned at last in the very least love before you leave life. Love is why we are here, love is the key to all the other emotions.

Although the mathematical cosmic poem gave an indication of the grand size of the universe, I believe that the math was off a great deal. I know the satelites that orbit us are going 30,000 miles an hour, and that Betelgeuse, the nearest star is on the order of 20,000 light years away, which means we'd have to pilot a vessel doing the speed of light for 20,000 cc years in order to get to Betelgeuse, which may or may not be a class M planet, life harbouring. Recorded history is not even 10,000 years, so, it is ridiculous to think that we will ever get off this more and more growing barren rock. If we did hit something travelling at the speed of light, even a plastic sfork would cause our space ship to exploded, in the same way that a penny thrown off the empire state building would slice through a pedestrians skull some 90 floors below.

Probably, concerning the origin of life, we come out of a big bang, but there is something called the weak force which makes the planets and stars work their way back to the spot of the big bang, and then there would be an implosion and then another big bang, which in celestial time, would seem to be that we might even be in some finite number of occurances of big bang implosion big bang implosion, rubber banding back and forth, etcetera throughout time, where and when it all began we can not even venture a guess.

For Christ's sake - there's nothing that fucks with my somewhat neurotic head more than when I log on to check out how much porn mistermandingo has dumped on this forum in a 24 hour period, and I get a philosophical/metaphysical dichotomy instead! Brrr! Gives me the willies! (I must admit, some of you have it pretty well sorted, although William S Burroughs sums it up thus: "We are here to go...") On that cheerful note...

Well, I thought that was stupendous, to give the dictionary definition of the meaning of life, after the silence I had created, as in the famous koan What is the sound of one hand clapping? Well, girls don't really undertsand that, but us men do.

Then there is the simplicity of life as in a haiku....

I went to get water from the well
There was a morning glory wound around my water bucket
I took my neighbors bucket instead.

If it was that easy to understand the meaning of life, alla looking it up in the dictionary, well, then I think there would be some staisfaction in it. You do get points for orignality, yet score a zero for creativity, which in essence gives quintessential meaning to our lives.

NO satisfaction in finding the meaning in life in a dictionary
