Hi all.. This is way off the board topics.

I'm making/giving my father a ton of music that i know he'll like and i have pretty much everything...except for PINK FLOYD...(odd that Sid passed away today as well...so sorry)

But my issue is that i've ZERO Pink in my collection....

Is any one out there willing to share/direct me to a place that might have some for easy (free) download???

I'll try to post some really great content in trade!

Any help would be great!

thanx all

Not sure if any of you (especially you DS) have used AllofMP3.com? They are dirt cheap US$0.07-US$0.11 per song. You can choose your bitrate (everything is encoded directly from CD) and can even use cutting edge encoding methods like standart (variable bitrate = small files, high quality). They also offer a program called AllofMP3 explorer that gives you direct access to the music catalogue. Queue them up and let `em download! Preview the tracks in the inbuilt player! Download individual songs or whole albums very easily! I sound like an advertisement for them don't I?

It's hosted in Russia. According to their disclaimer, it's legal... but I doubt it.

I dont know why u takl about mp3´s worth. Use P2P sharing clients and u can get almost all what u like free. I prefer noncomprimated music for my audio archive. Mp3 only like preview in PC or walkman....

I too thought like that once. But for my needs, an mp3 is fine. I very rarely have enough time to fully appreciate the increased fidelity that vinyl or cds offer. So mp3's it is.

Secondly, p2p is rubbish. If you can actually find the song you want, most likely it has that hideous copyright protection screechy noise. Nothing like grabbing a glass of wine, sinking into your favourite chair to listen to... oh, lets say Pink Floyd for example, switching the lights off and closing your eyes to envelop the moment... only to crap your pants as 120db of static audio corruption comes pouring out of your speakers. No thanks... if I want a song badly enough, I'm happy to cough up the princely sum of 10 cents to listen to it.

I agree P2P is rubbish, I only use it as a last resort

thats why I started the music forum, honest sharing of music, no virus's trojans and the likes. you know what you are getting, from honest friendly people.

By P2P i found many very quality mp3´s with high data rate or VBR, but like i said i use it for listening in PC when i am in office or in mp3 player. I dont agree with P2P is rubbish. I use Strong DC++ and a eMule for downloading and i can´t complain. For serious archive i use uncomprimated records , either original or burned CD or DVD. I use my hi-fi components for relaxed listening it Wink Last month i purchased Pink Floyd "The Pulse" DVD ....It is musical and visual orgasm for me. Guys, i guess u agree with me Wink....

P.S. I don´t know what about u, but i hear differences on my Hi-Fi by listening burned mp3 (converted to red book format (*.wav) and uncomprimated sound. Tjhis sound has other features......But all it is very subjective Smile

Yeah... torrents are all good if you can find exactly what you are after. Sometimes it takes you ages to track down the right torrent. As mentioned, if I want to listen to something badl enough... I will just fork out the $1.00 to get the whole album as high-bitrate mp3's. First time round, no hassles, no copyright screech. I can preview the songs before I buy and only download what I need. mIRC and torrrents are great for t3h W@r3Z and Divx rips though.
