Man, this thread needs to be saved from those two Statler and Waldorf characters whom I think might have been born before WWII. Picture of Markino and Bob attached...


Here´s a new more contemporary quiz.

Gangsters and mobsters.
(Should start of easy then a bit more difficult I hope. Good luck.)


1. Kingpin in Chicago whos path to power was laid on i.l.l.egal dealings of the substance C3-C2-OH. Finally got nailed for tax evation and ended his days on a small island in the San Francisco bay area. Also starring Kevin Costner.

6. Bernie Bernbaum is a slippery fellow and is supposed to get whacked....

*...... at where? Who´s given the task of whacking Bernie (character and actors name)? Bernie is played by?


7. Once a record holding movie for the most uses of the word “fuck”, this movies screenplay was written by the same guy who´s now making a movie portraying a significant day in 2 policeofficers lives.

* Name of the film? Screenplay by? Main character and actor?


8. He´s been a Mohican, a cripple, a Czech doctor, a wrongfully convicted car bomber and.....

*......a gangleader in which film? Actors name and character name?


9. Great epic gangstermovie set in a Jewish neighborhood in Lower East side NY.

* Name the actor playing the character Maximilian Bercovicz. Also name the actor whos real last name was also the last name of his character.


10. The only survivor of a burning ship, a Hungarian sailor, set the police on the trail of a legendary criminal. The criminal had once demonstrated to a rival gang what true determination was, by offing his own son.

* Lets hear the title of the film, name of character and actor of both the criminal and his lawyer?

6. Miller's Crossing - maybe the Coen Bros. best flick. Gabriel Byrne as Tom "What's the rumpus?" Reagan and John Turturro as Bernie "Look at your heart" Birnbaum.

8. Daniel Day Lewis was Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York.

9. Is it Once Upon a Time in America?

10. The Usual Suspects. Kevin Spacey was "Keyser Soze". Pete Posthelwaite (a guess at the spelling) was "Mr. Kobaiyashi".

6. Yes. And agreed, maybe the best Coen bros flick, but then theres The Big Lebowski...and O´ Brother...and I love the Ladykillers, never mind the critics...Damn, they´re all good.

OK, 4 is from Goodfellas, and the character's name is something Batts. Billy? He's the guy they beat and stab and stuff in the trunk. The actor (regrettably, I cannot give his name; I try to do this without resorting to resource materials) appears in this genre quite a bit.
