Goodbye Forumophilia

I stayed away for a couple of months, but it looks like nothing has improved. This site continues to be a lame attempt to generate business for (m)ORON. It is also impossible to tell what is in threads from the titles. Tiny, young, teens, beautiful, petite, sweet, tight, girls. Select any three or four words from that list, mix well, and you have a title for your thread. Don't bother to post any meaningful previews either, nobody seems to give a shit.

Goodbye, Forumophilia. It was good to know ya' in the good old day.

Those of us who have been here for many years have seen the change and know what you mean
I check back every so often, but Oron is blocked where I am, so pointless looking at the threads with hosted content.

He does have a point when he says "Don't bother to post any meaningful previews either, nobody seems to give a shit." That actually has become a problem in some areas of the board. With really small files, like Cute-Mary, I don't mind. I'm going to dl those no matter what. But with most things, I think a rule change might be in order that requires people to post video screenshots that contain all the vital information about the clip. Thanks to Hammernerd, I use ChesireCat, which is free and takes a whole 3 seconds to make a screenshot.

With picture sets, you should be posting 2-4 pictures so people know what they are getting, plus picture size and number.

Ideally, there shouldn't need to be a rule about this. People should be doing these things out of common sense and decency to their fellow board members.

I have to Agree with Darkknight.

In the past this was a board for socializing and sharing thoughts and files.
The last year it becomes more and more commercial and everyone does business with ORON to make as much money as they can.
I pay for download hosters as it should be, if i want something i have to pay for it.
But there is a limit too. I refuse to take Oron also as download hoster because of the mentality they have.
There are different companies that stopped co-operation with Oron because they are not willing to do anything. They are stuborn.

I am also a member for a couple of years, and most of the time i didn't had time to watch the forums.
So I am also looking for better boards which does a lot of pain, because i really liked this board a lot.

Ultimately, a business needs support to stay afloat. Just like any other, forumophilia also needs help. The content and members here are great, and if you can't deal with a great site donate money then complain.

I'm not trying to disrespect your or your intentions. I'm trying to understand them.

There's a park in my neighborhood that gets a lot of trash dumped in it during the Summer. I can sit back and complain about it.

I can also sit back and complain how the city doesn't do a better job of cleaning this type of mess up.

Or I can go to the park and pick up the trash and put in the trash can where it belongs. More often than not, that is what I do, hoping others see me and make the same decision the next time some lazy slob makes a mess.

And the same is true here. If you don't like how or why some people post, then show them how it's done 'right' with your own thread. In mine, I try not to make the same mistakes that drive me nuts in other people's threads. I've also tried to include the things that I've liked that others have done. For once in my life, I actually practice what I preach!

I love Oron! It works so well for me compared to any other host that it's like borderline magic! But as I troll thru a dozen or so forums looking for hard to find stuff, there are always arguments over the different file host companies, including Oron. Some of them were legendary in how ridiculous the arguments had become. For every person who's said "I hate oron", there's been another 100 or so who have said the same thing about RS, DF, HF, MU, TS, etc. It's the same story, different company.

And by all means, don't be afraid to visit other forums. Most of the big boards have something unique about them. And it's those unique things I'm trying to cherry pick and bring here, like the shrine section, for example.

So if you find something elsewhere that's not here, then start a thread up here with that material. You'll be a hero!

Look at the threads, they have become ridiculous. I don't speak about posters with selected and organised content using Oron, I speak about tons of threads that exist here only to make $ and that don't give a damn actualy about what they are posting.


We liked Forumophilia for the quality, the owner used it for buissness and earned money but there was something genuinely great in the way it worked. Not now (only my opinion - yours can differ).

Because of this, RS users were often called rapdidwhores, and worse, on many different boards. People constantly complained how those users were only posting for points. It's the same argument but different file host. The more things change the more they do stay the same!

I think the main difference I found is that there were most sites you could join back then, which meant more material to post. There's still a lot of little sites that pop up but they tend not to last too long so you don't get much content.

As for people leaving, many lost interest for one reason or another. Some decided it's not worth the headache of pleasing the masses especially when link wars were raging and people's links were being reported left and right. But most I think left because they didn't like some of the rule changes. For them, it must have felt like a personal attack on them. Like their value to the board was being dismissed. But based on the various comments I've read from GS, I really don't think that was his intent at all. There really was no grand scheme to go out and screw over the members who have made this board great. Like all businesses, and these forums are a business, missteps were made, and admitted to. For some that wasn't enough. I really can't speak for them, nor will I judge them on their choice.

But it is a choice and hopefully one day they will make a different choice.

We all love oron, we were just teasing you little
