wow my timing couldn't have been better... i only recently got a RS premium account and finally built up some decent material which I just started to share and I just found out they killed the points program a few days ago. Oh well, guess I can tell everyone I was just making files available via RS because I'm such a giving person haha...

so MU=megaupload? somebody steer a noob in the right direction cuz I sure started off in the wrong one Confused

I voted "undecided", but I'm leaning towards MU. For those of you who are already on MU, is there any easy way to load files directly from RS?

there is a easy way. i don't post a link but google for "Mirror_maker" that's the tool you search for. the only problem.. you must have a premium account for both.

Yes, r/s has really fucked up the works. I've had it. Tried to load a set of files three times and couldn't get them into my account.

I'm heading for MU also. As of today.

"Staying with Rapidshare" in the hopes that they will remove their heads from their collective asses, soon.

If I do migrate then it will be to MegaUpload, for reasons stated here:

I can see them changing something - but not before they see they've fucked up and are losing a ton of business. And I doubt that'll happen any time soon. If they do make some fast changes, I'll be surprised to say the least.

Could not vote because there is no such choice Smile I have started to upload to every other site which is permitted here except RS (oh, and megarotic or smth, which is not working for every user).

I voted "Not going to upload on Forumophilia anymore" RS is dead to me and I don't like any of the other approved file hosts. Need to be more open file hosts I like FileServe and SharíngMatrix for me to continue.

my problem is who to go to if I dump rapid. They all have there problems so, what the question is rather, what is everyone else going to use? I use multiple boards for my downloads and there are so many hosts now many times when I find what I want it is on a host I dont use or dont like or cant use.
My solution? I will stick with rapid until this board forces me somewhere else or I find a shit pot of porn I must have though another host. Thats never happened yet, so I am still undecided however...
My problem is easy to solve because I have never had the time to upload enough to get it for free anyway.

Mostly its like the blue ray or hddvd question, I dont really care to be honest, my solution to that was to stop buying all the new hardware when blue ray came out. I just done care anymore, to many changes to fast and Im out all together...

I will also stay with RS as long as it is viable... afterwards... dunno yet, see what comes up as a feasible alternative... Problem is that everything outside of RS is so fragmented, and I am not really ready to pay 10 bucks a month for every hoster used... So I guess it will be waste some 75% of possible stuff because it is somewhere I don't have an account... or up so much stuff with a payout hoster that I can use the money to subscribe to the main 3 or 4 hosters...

My vote is to megaupload. I have a free account on megaupload not used for a year and surprise!!!, I have 22.548 points (for 2 months premium). So I will upload files to this account and have as I go.

Do not upload anything new in my 2 rapidshare premium accounts awaiting better news. I can wait a year and certainly will not pay anything for its extension.

Ill stay with RS (premium). I totally dislike megaupload (slow, shitty screens).
Im sure RS will listen to the stomr of protests and questions, Ill give them some time to adjust their policy.

"Not going to upload on Forumophilia anymore" could mean those users are not posting anymore in general or that they are using filehosts that are not approved here.
In the second case it would be interesting to know which filehosts these users are going to use. Maybe you could extend the variety of filehosters and add also some forbidden ones.
loui357 please look into fileshare. if you surf the web alot of the big rs users are swicthing to them. i went to them and i like it. they atleast have something to give uplaoders.

RS terminated my premium account and deleted 1500+ files just before they changed their rulez, meaning I lost almost a years free membership.

So I got a new membership and started uploading 300 files again until the change. Right now I'm not uploading anything at all until 1) RS change their rulez again or 2) my RS account dies and I get a new one, probably MU.

I have seen rumblings in other places that MU may not be the long term solution, perhaps as soon as August. I guess they see the traffic increases and want to take their turn at trying to make a profit.

It is interesting to me that vid file posting here has slowed to a trickle in the past week or so. At other places, where they have begun to allow more of the historic "banned" hosts, there are floods of new posts and posters, AND retention of their usual posters. Much of their new stuff is crap - reposts, poor resolution, just plain old, etc... by pure pointwhores, but they ARE keeping their traffic up, which, of course means their ad revenue won't fall off.

I worry for Forumphilia that sticking with the "usual suspects" for hosting may prove to be a serious hardship.
