Hi, i have some questions for those of you who are experts on rapidshare.

I have a collector's account. A month ago i converted my rapidpoints to get a premium. I used the premium for download only and kept uploading into my collector's.
My new account will expire very soon, so i opened a new one (there was an offert, only 1998 rs points).
My questions:

1.- About moving files. The reason i used my premium for download only was because, when i tried to move my files, i realized it has a cost of 250 rs points per account. I have more than 500 files, that means 125000 points on each account, wich i don't have, to move them all. Is there an easiest way to move my stuff to a premium?

2.- Let's say i have my free premium account with all my files and, after a month, i have my required 10 000 points. Can i extend my premium with those points? Or it will open a new one?
I don't want to loose the stuff or expend all my points on get the files back into the collector's

Any advice on how to manage this rapidshare thing will be wellcome

Thanks in advance!

If i was in your situation, i would use the premium only to upload the stuff "fast" that u can collect more points.

K my download rate is very high (16k stand) and i never logged in any account, the only thing i do if i want to download more outa timelimit as unregistred is to restart router.....

EDIT: Sorry i don`t know if it`s possible to collect points to adher premium account this way

1. Yes, you can upgrade a collector account to a premium one (no need to move any files).

But I won't do that, because, if your premium expires and you haven't enough points to extend the membership, you can't downgrade it back to collector.
It's only one way: collector to premium = yes, premium to collector = no.
So you have to pay, otherwise all uploads will die with your premium.

2. Yes, you can extend a premium with points, instead of creating a new one.

My suggestion: Keep your collector account and create new premium for download only (no need to upload/move files to premium).

Example: You have a collector account (400 files) and gain roughly about 8,000 points/month.
It's not enough for a new premium, but two months later (16,000 points) it's enough.

You convert 10,000 points for a new (one month) premium (don't upgrade the collector account!) and use it only for download (no files hosted there!).

One month later, the premium expires, you loose no uploads (no files hosted) and your collector account has 14,000 points total (6,000 previous month, 8,000 new points).
Time to create a new premium (old one is expired).

Thank you bot weird and monkey!

I'll stick to the collector's uploading - premium downloading method.
I'm very close to reach the 10 000 points per month rate.

Thanks again!

This is surely the best option if your uploaded files don't gain you 10k points per month.
If you have more uploaded you will maybe see that there are some interesting features in premium that you don't have in collectors account, as for example deleting more than one file at once or view them all in list-view. Not to mention the renaming function in the new beta-premium zone. But sure you can live without that, just gimmicks.

One thing about moving files:
As you can see in the RS-news, this feature was free at first but has been abused by some. Moving files now "cost" 300 points from the destination account (at the beginning it was 250 points from each account).
But it is possible to move all your files from Premium to Collectors account, it works in both ways.
And it's not 300 points per file but per moving transaction, at the bottom of your account is an option "Transfer all files to" either Premium or Collectors account.

what are premium points? I don't remember seeing them in my premium account before. My best guess would be downloads from other premium users. do you get anything from them? in the last 24 hours or so, premium points outnumbered free points by a ratio of 6 to 1. is this the new point counting system they talked about a few days back?

From Rapidshare:
"You gain Premium-RapidPoints when Premium users download your files. The traffic volume generated by all files bigger than 5 MB will be added, and you will get one Premium-RapidPoint for each 100 MB. You can convert your Premium-RapidPoints into Free-RapidPoints or into ReferrerPoints according to your needs. Your files have to be stored in the Collector's Zone or the Premium Zone so that we can assign the download to your account."

I just havent found out how you convert them.Maybe they are still working on this. Confused

Thanks for the info, so premium points are more valuable than free points then. cool! but it takes 100MB of download for a point. posting huge files may not be so bad, I have been trying to avoid them.

One last question my friends: Can i transfer my free points and my premium points from my old collector's account to my premium account?

I have transfer all my files to my premium account now. I think i can get the 10 000 points in a month, but it would be very helpfull if i can use my old points (5 000 free and 13 500 premium), just in case.

And, in that case, i guess i can use both kind of points to extend my premium account right?

I dont think that you can transfer them points but better confirm that with rapidshare. It wasnt answered in their FAQ.

I asked them (RS) and you can not transfer points from one account to another.
And the feature for exchanging Premium Points into Free
Rapidpoints will be implented soon.

I have amassed 539 files in my premium account, so far. When I checked my files, some of the earliest uploads I did were not showing. I went back to my posts and the files downloaded just fine, I don't know the others since I only tried the very first upload. Is it natural not to see the other files when you have so much files uploaded?

By default only the last 500 files are displayed, but all of them are in the system. Want to see them? Go to page #2 of your account Wink

Or alternatively while into your premium account you can add a ?skip=500 sub-command and you'll be seeing the files #501 to 539 ...

This way:

Your premium account URL should be more or less like this:

Code:

https://ssl.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/premiumzone.cgi

You just need to add the abovementionned sub-command at the end of that URL. And now it should be:

Code:

https://ssl.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/premiumzone.cgi?skip=500

Question Got the list now?
