Imagevenue.com

Can we ban Imagevenue.com? They have that stupid little "Are you 18..." thing blocking the picture untill you click on the yes button. Thats one of the most popular methods for getting an unwanted tracking cookie on your machine... or even spywares or other threats. Any picture host that forces you to click on something in order to see the picture underneath is just bad news waiting to happen. imo.


EDIT- I've noticed on a celeb site i found that any pics of popular celebs( Miley, Hilary, Jessica Alba, Britny Spears...etc.) that are hosted at Imagevenue.com will give you the same "Are you 18..." crap even though the pictures are NOT porn! Just normal pics. That is a very bad sign. I know i would feel better if i knew that as few as possible computers are uploading content in this forum that have also used Imagevenue.com.

After several years using Imagevenue without problems (on a mac using firefox) they have figured out a way to beat the popup blocker in firefox and I am getting an ad window that has to be clicked off to go to the image. These ads are bandwidth hogs and a major pain if not dangerous. I see what others have been complaining about. I've also started getting the terms of service checkbox on some of their sites (Imagevenue seems to be over 100 different servers if I look at how many cookies I'm blocking). Does anyone have any idea how to block the popups? If not, I would be in favor of blocking Imagevenue.

Don't know, which filter you're using, but you can block certain stuff individually.

I agree - streamate is the worst. Sometimes freezes Firefox...

Took some doing using the wildcard function to block scrips from all the different Imagevenue urls, but seems to have done the trick.

Now if I could only figure out how to block "livejasmine" popups (from imagebam among others) and other crap that some sites throw off... Not from many sites connected here thankfully. This forum is nice and clean thank you very much!

Yeah, that "livejasmine" is another one. Deffinately never click on those to close them. Close it with the Task Manager. Same with any others.

yark, may i suggest using ww.stooorage.com for uploading your pics? No ads or interactions of any kind required when you visit to see a picture. Very nice.
