Please bear in mind that a file can only be downloaded 25 times or stored for 7 days.

So that means a files will need to be re-uploaded every 30 minutes until everyone has d/l it.

Or we will have a bunch of dead posts.

Why is my file blocked?

This can happen for several reasons:

1. The file has been transferred more than 25 times. That is currently the free service's limit.

Yes but its super cheap.

I dont care if ya pay but know this. Use what u want.

If U guys start posting with usedit they will be dead posts in 30 min or less.

I suggest no one make replys to these threds as once they die I will delete them as dead post . Because I highly doubt the poster is going to re up it every 30 min until there is no one trying to get it.

RS last for ever as long as the account is active or until deleted by uploader.

Here are some hints to help you more efficently use rapidshare.

Directions -
Rapidshare has been an excellent tool for sharing large files. Over the last few weeks, many people have figured out how to more efficently use this service. I wanted to document some of these suggestions here. If you have more please let me know.

Rapidshare traces the users IP address to limit each user to a certain amount of downloading per day. To get around this, you need to show the rapidshare server, a different IP address. You can do this one of multiple ways.

1. Request a new IP address from your ISP server.

Here's how to do it in windows:
1. Click Start
2. Click run
3. In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4. When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

5. Erase your cookies in whatever browser you are using.
6. Try the rapidshare download again.

Frequently you will be assigned a new IP address when this happens. Sometime you will, sometimes you will not. If you are on a fixed IP address, this method will not work. To be honest, I do not know how to do this in linux/unix/etc. If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it when you need it.

2. Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:

1. Download and install Firefox if you have not already
2. Download and install SwitchProxy
3. Google for free proxies
4. When you hit your download limit, clean your cookies and change your proxy

3. Use an anonymous service:

Running your system through the tor network should in theory work; however, it is difficult to use and setup. Plus, you allow others to run their evil deeds through your system as well by using this system. Anonymizer 2005 is inexpensive, easy to use, but not free. Other pay services would likely work as well.

4. You can use a bookmarklet to stop your wait times:

1. Open IE
2. Right Click On This Link
3. Select Add to Favorites
4. Select Yes to the warning that the bookmark may be unsafe.
5. Name it "RapidShare No Wait"
6. Click on the Links folder (if you want to display it in your IE toolbar)
7. Click OK
8. You may need to close and reopen IE to see it
9. Goto rapidshare and click the bookmarklet when you are **** to wait

I paid for a rapid share account, I dont care if you laugh, i think for the money it has saved me time and I can choose which server to download from and it tells me the current used bandwidths of each one so I can choose fastest, didnt noticwe this before.

Question I have is that it is due to run out soon, and I have collected premium points and got my uploaded files stored there, what will happen when my membership runs out? There must be another person on here who is stupid enought Razz to pay for this and will be able to tell me the answer.

Thanking you in advance

Not all good Things ar for FREE.
RS is the Best-Sharing Tool you can have.
The only shit is the Limit from 100 Mb Upload.
When your Membership runs out you must pay for more.
I have payd for one Year, 80 Euros.
You must extend, when your Contract ending.
Since 5 Weeks i have Premium and now 26'345 Downloads
at my Account.
Not bad i think.

First, bear in mind that I'm an idiot.
RapidShare IS inexpensive, and, as long as I'm on my own server, the speed is quite good. I find that when I'm sipping cappuccino at the cafe, the speed slows to a dead stop.
I see no reason to quit a winner.

I asked rapidshare about this a while ago

they say that files stay ALL time you are paid member and when you quit go to the unpaid status...ie 30 days after last download
