Favorite guilty pleasure movie (non-porn)

What movie do you like that you probably shouldn't like? I liked DOA: Dead or Alive. I know, it's cheesy, corny and all that, but I kind of dug it. If you accept the fact that it's a B movie, and check your brain at the door, then you'll enjoy it. It's certainly better than most video game movies (which isn't saying much).

What's your guilty pleasure movie?

Most romantic comedies, like Love Actually, or Bridget Jones Diaries.

Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies

Normally I like arthouse foreign films and look down at these kind of films, but it's so funny and enjoyable I love it

I liked Prince Caspian. The first Narnia movie was bland, but the second one was pretty good.

I have a love affair with old Westerns, and Henry Fonda westerns in particular. Once Upon A Time In The West is one of my favorites.

Hm, I like ID4 (Independence Day) despite of the excess of patriotism. Good action movie.

And RE (Resident Evil). Milla Jovovich is really hot.

And I love every movie where the bad guy wins at the end
like "password swordfish" as example. If you look around
any deeper then you'll find out that these movies where a

the hollywood-philosophy.

I really didn't like the RE movies. The video games had decent plots, so why make up crap with "Alice"? Silent Hill was far more true to the original material, and had better actors.

Young Guns and the Karate Kid, just KK1 not any of the others. Oh and The Warriors for you guys who were around in the late 70s early80s.

Before I go on with my talk I have to say that I'm a gamer
since 1980, just by the way.
Okay, it is always very difficult to make a movie to a game
and in most cases, if a movie comes out what's based on a
computer-game then they dissapoint, exceptions exist.

Examples:
Far Cry
Game was awesome = Movie sucked ass. Shame on "Til schweiger".
Doom
Game is a legend = movie was okay but it got not much to
do with the game.
Tomb Raider
Some of the game-series were okay = Movie was more an
indiana jones imitation with "Angelina Jolie" in the spotlight
but not as the character of Lara Croft.
Hitman
I loved the games, especially bloodmoney = I expected
more of the movie and wasn't really happy about it.
Streetfighter
Best beat 'em up to me = Movie, omg...this has got to be
the first movie of van-damme which I didn't like. Also, I
can't see what that movie got to do with the game.
Mortal Kombat
Played all MK games = but the movie was just like...okay,
let's watch it and then don't ever watch it again.

All based on my personally opinion, of course.

There are also games which are based on movies, the
oppostite case. To list a few:
Terminator
I really liked the first parts of the movies = Since the
Nintendo Enternainment System, each try to make a
good game out of it failed even the new one which
just came out a few weeks ago.
Alien / Predator
Regarding the movies, I am a predator-fan and the
movie alien was cult as it came out in 1979 = Okay,
most of all the alien games were crap except the
AVP game but this game doesn't have a good
graphic as it's kinda old. I really hope that the
new AVP game which will come out in 2010 will
be a success, though. I already saw a preview
on gametrailers and it looks good this far.
Scarface
Best gangster movie ever = Game, more like a GTA-clone
but it was okay to play as I'm a GTA fan.

This was all was just from the top of my head but I'm
sure there are many, many more.

To me it's always interesting when a game to the movie
comes out (or in the opposite direction) as I love to play
computergames and I love to watch movies very much.

What I do miss are porn-games (good ones) but on the
other hand, the game would get boring very soon cauz
what kind of story could fit what makes a game good?

The first Mortal Kombat movie was okay. It had a decent plot considering the material. I liked the Doom movie and it was based on the Doom 3 game, not the other games (very loosely based, like RE). Tomb Raider was okay, but my two favorite video game movies are Silent Hill and Final Fantasy VII: Advent whatever. Yeah, the FF movie was hard to follow (plot wise), but the animation and action sequences were unbelievable.
