You're right, making this is really a lack of knowledge in 2006
, there are many other ways:
Here are some for Firefox:
Super Drag and Go:
Saves an image in a folder selected before by just dragging them: One mouse click, just what you wanted...
For Firefox 1.5 take the versions posted
here (link) in mozillazine forums.
Unfortunatly Super Drag and Go doesn't work here in forumophilia because of stupid php...
One mouseclick more, but better customizable (more folders):
Save Image in Folder (link)
Maybe also usefull:
Browse Images (link):
Quote: Browses all image links of a page.
This extension generates a list of all linked images from a site. If you have no forward history, you can cycle through this list with the forward button, the extra mouse button for forward works also. Or you can use the shortcut Alt+Shift+Right Arrow. Furthermore you can access the list by a status bar icon.
If you want to save many images (or whatever) at the same time:
Down them all (link):
Quote: DownThemAll lets you filter and download - literally in a click - all the links contained in any web-page, increasing download speed up to 600%, and letting you pause and resume downloads any time you want, also from previous FF sessions!
Why do we have to load a slow external download manager/accelerator, when we can just have DownThemAll inside Firefox? No AdWare, no waits. Just the files you want, in a click.
There are many more usefull extensions and bookmarklets, see e.g.
Pornzilla to find some (pornzilla isn't complete...)
have fun!
