A technical guru should create a sticky thread to show us how to use codecs, video converter, resize video file size using virtual dub, attach audio to video...etc.

Cuz I can't play some of the stuffs I downloaded and I want to resize some large file videos to smaller version for easier upload/download

Thx for readin'

Actually we used to have such a thread however it was lost in a forum database error last year.

Maybe we will try to get something similar going again as it is very helpful and informative for everyone.

It may be possible for it to be started again by making a thread from some other good single posts / tutorials and adding them together in one thread? I know there are some tutorials here which are very good. These could be the first few posts and then members can then ask questions and someone that knows the answer can reply in the thread. It worked well this way before so I think it is a good idea.

K-lite codecs. Search google, download the mega pack and leave all the settings as default including installing the Media Player Classic. It will play them all, including .mov and .rp [you can uninstall the worlds #2 and #3 spy ware Quicktime and Real Player now unfortunately you sorta need the #1 spyware... Windows. heh]

No need to convert or resize.

I'm not sure if this wide range of problems fit in one thread. Maybe we can make one sticky (and closed) thread where some mods can add (pm them about it) some links to single threads where the particular problem is discussed. This would prevent this one sticky thread of getting to large with all the expectable questions, it would be more than a database with links. It would also be easier to search for a problem and maybe there's more than one tutorial about a single problem.
This would make it also much easier for any expert just to start a tutorial for a specific problem (as for example "cutting wmv")
