Rapidshare upload speeds.

Can anyone tell me why I only get a speed of about 30 kb/sec when uploading a file to rapidshare.
Depending on the time of day I've had download speeds of up to 300 kb/sec.
I have a 1mb broadband connection.

Upload speed is much slower than download for broadband services

if you are on 1meg service...then 30kps upload is as fast as you will get

I assume you are in the uk??

This slow upload speed is a pain.
At least I now know its not something I'm doing wrong.

Most DSL lines are called ADSL , A from Asimetric. The upload speed is mutch lower than the download on. It was designed for web browsing, You send a 1 line url an got 250 kb page + pics.
256/64 o 512/128 is usual. on a 1mb DL a 256 kb will be ok => 32kb theorical top.
