I recently made the move to Vista-OS. I have been using CompuPIC and love it. However, CompuPIC isn't fully compatable with Vista (the slideshows and crops get all mixed up).

Most importantly, I like the "maxi-show" feature in CompuPIC... the ability to have user-defined multiple images in slideshow at the same time. Most of the viewers I've checked out only allow 1 picture at a time to be viewed in slide show.

Any recommedations for a digital content manager / picture viewer?

Thanks

Google "ACD see pro".

I'm not sure if it supports vista as I'm still a XP-user until
windows-7 gets released.

Yes - move to Vista was ****.

Rayden - thank you for the rec. I DL'd a trial... only can't figure out how to get more than one image in slide show.

Is it possible?

It is. I mean I have it installed on a secondary computer
of mine and played a little bit around with the software.
A friend of mine gave me this prog 4 free so it was no
lose in any way. All I ever wanted to do is to make so
called "contact sheets".
Like this one here:

But as I also checked the other functions, I've found out
that it's generally a good software.

Yeah, go ahead for the trail. You can't go wrong on that.

Don't worry about using vista. I saw that the interface
looks very pretty. The only reason why I still use my
old XP_pro is because a wise man told me once...
"Never change a running system". So I didn't switch.

but can you do a slideshow with more than one image at a time playing.... i.e. 1 or more images rotating in slide show side by side????

Hi.

Now I know exactly what you mean with more pics at one time
showing on the slideshow. I'm not sure if ACD see can handle
that as I never used ACD see for slideshows. Just found this:
Code:
http://www.cherryfield.net/resources/photo/acdsee7/slideshow.shtml

Before I'd tell you now that it's possible and then it ain't, I won't
promise anything because I really just made small experiments
with this software except the "contact-sheet" function.

I might have to say that I'm using an older version of "ACD see"
(probably the 2006 version) and they update their software like
MS, adobe and all that regularly. So maybe the newest version
got many more funtions than my old version.

It's one of the best and most famous "picture-viewer" out in the
software industry, supposed this well known like photoshop as
picture-editing software so I'm still confused why you didn't
heard anything about "ACD see" since now.

I only can give you the advice to get the free trail-version
of it. I'm sure that the trail includes all the functions what
the full-version got but just for a limited amount of days.
Similar as "adobe" software.

At least, whatever the "ACD see" includes or not, you don't lose
anything with a try on the trail-version. No harm, no foul.

Good luck, groovebug. screenshot

Idea Fast question

I've googled a little bit for CompuPIC+vista and it seems
that the version 6.23 or higher runs on vista. Rolling Eyes

Or do you already have the newest version of it and it's
full of bugs as far for the function you really want?

I'm not an expert if it comes to pic-viewer anyway as I
still use the intern pic-viewer of XP to watch my images.
I like it like that because it's easier to wipe my history
(log-files).

Sorry for being such a bad help for you but maybe other
people care about your problem. Sad
