Can you exchange Rapid share points to extend your membership? Does any know how many pts they charge for 1yr of service? I'm building up a fair number of points (~50K) and wanted to know what I could do with them. The idea of the T-shirt and low tech helicopter doesn't get my fan blades motivated.

quoted from their site: 'RapidPoints can be exchanged for a Premium Account, or to extend your Premium membership. For this, you can go to the menu option "Redeem RapidPoints" in the Free Zone or Premium Zone.'

As said, yes you can extend your membership.

10k points = 1 month

Last New Year they had a special offer for only one hour.

10k points = 3 month

Mmmmm ... exchanging RS points?

At a rate of 50 RS points for one ticket, don't forget their SCAM-LOTTERY to win 50,000 Euro and then lose the full amount based in the participation rules quoted below ... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Quote:

Participation conditions

Everybody can participate at the lottery, who has a Collector's or Premium Account. Participation only from the age of 18 years forward.

If we notice that you earned the points against our terms of condition, we have the right to remove your points and cancel your account. Employees, and/or business partners of RapidShare or their relatives are not allowed to participate in this lottery.

The Collector's- or Premium Accounts must be valid until June 01st, 2009. Otherwise the converted tickets cannot be included in the lottery.

Dang, I got to get moving. Only 50K pts and my year ends in October.

I appreciate everyone's response.

Edit: Just did a little calculation. Since one can only get upto 255 pts/day and assume you did this for 365 days, you could achieve 93,075 pts or a 9 month extension. Mad

You can get way more points than that. The 255 pts/day limit is only for points generated by premium users.

As Monkey D. Ruffy mentioned, I was lucky to extend my account when they had that special offer last New Year. Unfortunately they only allowed it to be extended 6 months.

I missed that New Year special as well.

Was valid only for one hour and I was a little bit drunk at that time Smile

But as mentioned by humlan, you can get 255points/day by premium members.

30.5 days/month = 7,777 points by premium members

The missing 2,223 points to extend the account for another month you'll get by free members.

So if your account hosts enough files (approx. 500 files necessary), you won't have to pay anymore.

Maybe I'll raffle one month premium account off here later.
