I can never download from Rapidshare, due to the nature of my wireless connection - my ip address always seems to be already downloading something else. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

Do you have a totally wirless connection? Meaning that you are going throught a wireless company or are you using a wireless router in your home?

Through a wireless router.

OK, have you tried using a regular lan cable by passing the wireless part? I know it's not what you want to do but it will help in the trouble shooting of things.

Other things to try

Reset your internet connection. If you have a cable modem unplug it for a couple minutes and plug it back in. The electrical side not the actual cable. This forces a new IP normally.

Oh, here's another thing to try. By pass the router all together. JUst plug direct into your connection. Cable modem or DSL. See if you can access rapid share this way.

In case you are wondering I am trying to eliminate differnet possibilities so we know where the problem is.

Don't try everything at once because we will never know where the problem was and know which part was bad.

Keep us informed on how you are doing.

I've had similar problems with wireless connections. Shutting down th ebrowser and even restarting th PC doesn't work for me. The only thing that clear the problem is to connect to a diufferent host/server/wifi point. Crying or Very sad

But if you're using a home router, I'd try the reset ISP thing, or just hardwire plug in to the connection...

My original modem is in another part of the country at the moment, and unreachable - i'll try reconnecting to force a new ip, and see if that works. Thanks for your help! Smile
