You might try a video decompiler like the one at http://www.bestfreewaredownload.com/freeware/k-dvd-t-free-free-video-studio-decompiler-freeware-qeyxrlwq.html I've been using it for awhile and love it.

If you're talking about the preview caps like most posters use to preview their vids, use Image Grabber II. It's very easy to use and is a free download many places.

Media Player Classic (From here, is a good way to watch videos and also has a really slick thumbnail maker (you can set how many columns and rows and stuff).

Don't know what happened but I got three freeze of my system trying open this soft... Too bad it looked promising, I hope that nobody else got this problem.

And I second tzman for his propositions, I'm addicted to image grabber ! Very Happy

I'm sorry that happened. I've used it a lot and never had any problems with it. If people are having problems with it then I think it's best not to even try it.

There is nothing better than Image Grabber II. You can add, delete and rearrange your thumbnails with it. No other program does that.

If it works - and it doesn't always - then you have the problem of shrinking the image, and putting it together with loads of others to make a thumbnail image. Media Player Classic and Image Grabber go through the whole film, and assemble the thumbnail page automatically. Much faster, easier and lazier.
