Hey I'm getting this error: "You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while."

Even though it's the first time I've searched today.

If you for some reason have clicked two times on the search button, knowingly or unknowingly, within 30 seconds.
That message will appear.

If you write two PMs simultanious and finish them and want to send them.
You also have to wait 30 seconds between pressing the submit button.
If you are a fast poster, same delay between posts. 30 sec.

I believe that fast posters and fast searchers are doing harm to this forum. The delay between posts should be increased to 5 minutes at least to save bandwidth. Wink

I get this EVERY time I search. On both FF and IE

Any ideas?

Are you already logged in or did you try to search as guest?!?

It won't work for guests (why should it?!?).
Guests have nothing to contribute, neither posts, nor thanks for poster. They only read and leech.

Therefore they are not be able to use the search function.

That's a very good argument. Only few boards let you do a search as a guest, mostly you are reminded to login or to register. Maybe we can change the error message (i'm afraid we can't): leave it in case of searching too fast and create a new one if you are not logged in ("login or register").
This may avoid some distress for those members that just forgot to login.
