504 Gateway Time-out - WTF?

504 Gateway Time-out I got this while posting. Why this error arises almost everyday?
It took me like 1 hour to post this thread

Busy, busy, busy site.

Or, not enough server / internet bandwidth. It's ok most of the time for me...

Could be that too many people are using the site for the servers to handle. What I do is just take a "time out" myself and try later. It's one thing when you're just trying to view a page and quite another when you're trying to post. Chances are when poster is trying to post and they get the error, their post went through, but it just didn't display for them...then they hit the backspace and hit the submit button again; this is what gives us double & triple duplicate posts and threads. What cracks me up is some will go and make one more post to apologize for the mistake when they could just edit the last reply.

So if you're posting and you get the error, backspace and copy what you just wrote, then check in another tab or whatever for the thread or topic area you tried to post in for your post, it might have went through...if not, try again with your paste.

Odds are, even if you get one of those that the post may have gone through. It's because of this that I wound up double posting a couple of times. Either way, it's because the site is mad busy at the time so just wait it out and all will be well.

It's getting worse! This is not good for anybody - webmaster, admins, mods, uploaders, leechers, phishers etc...

Really frustrating ...

You know that happens so often that I just thought that the forum was like that. Its the number reason for double posts. Sucks when you're posting a big comment and then that pops up and then you go back and type it up again and then it turns out you're double posting...

I'm in the US Central Time zone and about the only time I can post sets anymore is around midnight or 1:00 am or later. At that time much of North America is in bed and most of Europe hasn't awaken yet, so the site isn't as busy as at other times.

i had these problems the other week, being in the uk when it comes to peak time here the site is just unusable as you get the timeout errors 502 displayed. Have always wondered if this was just in europe but seem to be a common thing
