I have an old Creative HDD mp3 player with 60 GB. It is pretty big (like an old walkman from the 80s) and it only has a monochrome display, but I love it and I am glad that I haven't bought an ipod back then (my wife recently got one and regrets it)

For more then 20 years I listen to the same kind of music, so I have a huge collection (about 50 GB are full). And whenever I go on a trip, I want to have my whole collection with me ...

As for the earbuds - I have Weston UM2. They are also pretty expensive (I think about $200, so they are still cheaper then the Shure 420), but I think they are worth it. I even went to a local store where I got custom fitted earplugs, for optimized sound.

By the way: a huge music-collection, an expensive headphone with custom made earplugs - can you guess what kind of music I am listenting ?

I have the 8 gig iPhone. I know that it doesn't hold a whole lot, so it kinda forces me to change the music and movies every so often to keep it fresh!

I don't know of any player that sounds better than the Sansa Clip. Using the cheap ear buds it comes with or my full size Sony MDR-V700 DJ headphones, they just rock! I have a 2 gig and a 4 gig and I wouldn't trade 'em for any other player.

I have an Ipod Touch.. I've been having for almost 2 1/5 years and the glass screen is cracked really bad. But still works like a charm Laughing

I've had other types mp3 players, but they've never lasted long. Not to mention that don't have the goodies an Ipod Touch has (Internet,Apps,Games,Videos, etc.) If you are looking for a good durable music player I say get an Ipod touch, or any other type of Ipod. Also I heard Zunes were good. But I have yet to try one for my distrust in Microsoft!

I have a Zune HD 32 GB and as a musicplayer and for just goofing around it's much better than my Ipod touch - and one thing that's much better is that it's not as scratch-prone as the Ipod.

I use a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 earphones - they are some of the best out there.

C'mon, somebody here has to own a set of Shure SE420 earphones....

I have a hard time spending that much money on earphones, but if they are worth it I might do it.

I don't have the SE420 but I do have a pair of the SE310 - soundwise they are very, very good - you have to buy something like the top Ultimate Ears models to get anything better. BUT build-wise they are not as good. I have only had to exchange them one time (which to Shure's credit they do without any problems) but several of my friends have had to exchange them several times. The E2C model I had a couple of years back I had to exchange 8 times in about a year and a half.

The build quality has improved over time - but I would still recommend you buy a pair of Ultimate ears - I have a pair of super.fi 5's which are very good.

And then there's the price: 400$ for the SE420 versus the super.fi 5's 170$. I don't think the SE420 is twice as good - for 400$ I would rather buy some TripleFi 10's - they are really the best earphones you can buy without going for Ultimate Ears costum models which costs from 1000$.

WTF? What kind of person in their right mind would spend $400 on a pair of earphones?? I wouldn't spend more than $10 on earphones, let alone $400!
That's not only insane, it's ridiculous.

Right now I'm using my LG Incite as my mp3 player, since my Sony Walkman just had a shower at the washing machine. Embarassed

[Sarcasm] Well thank you so much for your insightful and wise comment! [/Sarcasm]

If you really think there's no difference between a 10$ headphone and a 200$ (or 400$) one - then you might wanna get your ears checked....
