i can't d/l from rapidshare over wifi..

hi..
so i googled it and found 2 people with the same prob which were never answered..
I moved my computer and am now over wifi with a linksys g router..
surfing ,email etc no prob.. i have a pass to a site and have d/l big 500 mb + files no prob... but rapidshare d/l's won't work!! d/l's start but after 5 to 10 min the speed drops and eventually times out.. anyones suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

i'm assuming it worked well when it was plugged in?

have you tried it with different internet browsers as well?

i know.. it is very f*ucki weird..
still can't get it to work.. when it was plugged in it works fine..
i use firefox and haven't tried a diff browser.. guess thats next..
what's weirder is uploads work!! i know theres got to be many forumophiliacs that are wireless and have no prob..
i knew wireless would be slower since its a 54 mbps connect instead of the 100 i get wired but it still makes no sense.. like i said i can d/l but just not from rs.. i was hoping it was a rs prob over the weekend but..
i guess i may have to pay the phone douchebags to put in a jack..

i tried i.e. and it was even worse..
timed out almost immediately..
i also tried a d/l manager .. cryptload.. it seemed ok then same thing..
this blows!!!

just saw this post, all I can add is I've had experience with 3 different linksys G routers and I hate them. One died completely and the one I bought for my Mom's place constantly needs restarting and my new one still kicks me off once in a great while. The cheapo one I recently installed at my girls house works flawlessly. If you have no other things to try, I'd say look at the router, maybe you can borrow one? Heck, just "borrow" one from the store, (keep the box and receipt).

It sounds like it might be the router. Did you try a wired connection? Also would rapidshare be on a blocked list on your router? Some routers have sites you can block, and maybe its on that list.

the weirdness continues.. i was pissed and shut down for the
last week or so. i saw Fonzz's reply the other day and tested the router..
my playstation 3 has been through this router for 2 yrs wireless..
never tried to d/l anything with it but updates etc.. i successfully d/l a file from rs with my ps3 on to a usb drive..
i have a friend with a laptop i'm going to borrow tomorrow and i'll test the router and usb wifi adapter with that.. i don't get it.. unless it is the usb adapter, but then why could i d/l 500 + mb files from a "real", not file sharing website? shit..
i'l let ya know if i get it figured out..
