The boards are definitely nicer without the ads, but if they are important to the continued existence of forumophilia, I can live with a few ads.

I can live with them too, my friend, but enjoying it while it last!

I agree. I prefer the boards w/out the adds but prefer the boards w/ the adds to no boards at all

I use an ad blocker and never see them, but I do hope they make enough from those ads to keep this place going. It's the best board on the net.

I don't mind ads either.
But, a lot of the adult site oriented ads have bright glitters that annoy the crap out of me. I don't mind a banner with just simple ads, but ones that blink with random bright colors are extremely annoying!

The word from the upstairs boss is that there will be new Banner ads coming in eventually.
Hopefully some of the comments here will have an impact on the design of the banners.

How about a compromise? Ads everywhere but General Chat? On any other board, your topic is obvious so the ads are just a part of it, but it's easy to spend quite a while on some of those GC threads and never see a tittie. Some members here are actually very sharp and have some interesting things to say. However, we're all base enough that I don't think the ad exposure would suffer much.

I am completely agree that the forum is better without the ads, but if they are necessary, replace them...
