I'm probably spamming

Hoping an administrator or moderator can answer this question for me.

Yesterday, my post count was over 275. Today, I make a post, and my post count is 233. What happened???

This is especially frustrating, since some of my threads have disappeared into the VIP club area, where I'd have to have 300 posts to access, and was finally getting close. Sorry, I'm not one of those neffing types that will post 300 jillion posts just to get my post count up, I post when I have something to share, or when I want to thank someone for their upload, so it takes a while to get the amount up to the VIP level.

Now it looks like it's going to be even longer!! Evil or Very Mad

The siterules says (see siterule no8 ) that short posts/replys like "Thank you" are not permitted and you have got your "Thank you" posts deleted. We are just now checking all users and delete all short messages one by one. Another reason can be that you have make several posts/replys in a thread that have been deleted.

So, should we have to accept that if we post answers/comments/uploads in a thread that one day you decide to delete, we loose our points without having any guilt?

If an admin decides to delete a thread from somebody, I understand it because they have their reasons which are totally understandable and respectable. But, killing my points because "I'm just there" or "I was just in the middle" doesn't sound so fair for me.

As the rule no. 8 stated, you should not post-flood.

I don't want to dissuade anyone from thanking other posters for their great work (and as a poster I really know how much work it is).

Take the time to express your gratitude in a full sentence with more than three words, and don't overdo it.
Here's a very good example of post-flooding (see pic).

No one will get access to VIP by only post-flooding, only substantial/content postings will be counted (and you need 300+).

The admins who grant access check your postings and correct the post-count if necessary.

One to three postings with thanks per day should be enough.

Arrow Rules

8. Do not post a series of short “Thank you” messages or unnecessarily duplicate posts in order to increase your post count. This will be construed as “Post Flooding” and any post which is thought to contravene this rule may be deleted by the moderators.

I totally agree with that, dude. But that's not exactly what I meant.

And I agree that there are better ways to thank than "just 3 words". But my point was: If I post for example a picture set, or 2, or 3, or a video, in a thread from a model, but for any reason an admin decides to delete it (whatever the reason is)... where's my guilt? I only contributed, I'm not the thread started and didn't have anything to do with the reason to delete the thread.

Generally I believe that if some posts of yours are getting deleted, you must have been guilty of breaking a rule (just very few times a thread disappeared completly).
Maybe I can shed some light on the Admin's way from my own experience. A Admin deleted my posts from the Zuzka thread with content in them (links and/or preview pics) and left all others untouched. As the content was against rule 1, he has rightly done so.
So I don't believe ANY reason is sufficient for a Admin, he only removes the 'worst' offending posts to leave to postcount of all others untouched.

If the complete thread was lost, it might be again a board failure, something we had already experienced last year (So if the thread is lost, your posts there are lost, too. That's life. Wink )

Guys... do you READ my posts?

I mean, if your post is inside a thread OPENED BY OTHER MEMBER, and THE THREAD is deleted. Not YOUR thread or YOUR posts.

For example, if I start a thread, and members posts/comments/thanks in MY thread, if the thread is deleted the guilt is MINE, because I was who started it, but automatically the rest of the posts from other people are deleted and they loose their points, when the only guilty one was ME.

If I am who does something wrong, and not anybody else, it's totally unfair for all them.

If a complete thread would be deleted (regardless if by accident or rule violation) and you've answered there, that will affect your post count (it decreases). Military call that collateral damage.
Nothing can be done to prevent it, sorry.

So, it sounds like the moral of the story is to create your own themed content thread(s) for posting content, instead of posting your content in someone else's existing thread.

This should serve to preserve members' posts, in the "caught in the middle" deletion example that nacnac04 cited, thereby reducing content posters' collateral damage.

In other words: Play in your own sandbox. Smile

Yes?

Yup.

As the rules stated, it is allowed, but you should ask for permission:

(b:2)Contributing material to other member’s threads is acceptable and often encouraged but don’t hi-jack someone else’s thread. Unless the member running the thread has clearly said they invite other members to post new material on it then ask first. Don’t post anything which is already on the thread. Treat other member’s threads with the same respect you’d like them to show to yours.

Before posting please read the rules about posting in one thread, allowed hosting sites and restricted content.

Arrow Permitted File Hosts, Image Hosts and Link Protectors
Arrow PROHIBITED / RESTRICTED SITES

I agree, I posted lots of pics and now they are gone. Trying to get to 300 is very discouraging.

If an admin decides to delete a thread from somebody, I understand it because they have their reasons which are totally understandable and respectable. But, killing my points because "I'm just there" or "I was just in the middle" doesn't sound so fair for me.

You've been reported for post-flooding, you've been warned for post-flooding (two times!) and now you're posting one single pic per post (in letters O-N-E) and think you'll get VIP status by doing so?!?

Doubtful.
