"Only users granted special access"?

Hi,
I bookmarked a page that I wanted to return to and got the message:
"Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum."

What does this mean, please?

more than likely the thread got moved to the VIP area for one of various reasons where you need 300 posts or buy a 1 year membership to GS's site

This happened to me today, too. Viewing the thread last night; today, no access. Can't even verify that it still exists. Is there a way to get a bit more information on the what and the why from the mods? Is there a trigger that makes a thread disappear from general view? I have no problem with the Forum setting up and following whatever rules and procedures it wishes; I'd just like to know what they are. Thanks.

I was trying to view a thread that had that message as well. It was a c*f* thread that I love to see. Is it also a 300+ post only thread?

As far as I can say, several threads were moved to VIP or deleted during the last few weeks by the board owner.

He hasn't told us why, so I'm sorry, we of the staff are kept in the dark about that as well.
